I agree. He is resigning good home grown players and filling needs with quality young players. I can't believe how people take lack of media knowledge to be a lack of movement by the front office. It's mind boggling. They have probably had Beachum locked up just keeping everything quiet how good FO do it. Cut this guy some slack please.
If we were a kicker away from contention, bringing back Folk was a no brainer. When you are as far away from contention as we are, you trim where you can. This is a good signing.

Don't we still have Ross Martin in hiding somewhere? And I'm surprised Folk couldn't come back on a cheaper deal. He does have a pretty full family of kids, so I would understand not wanting to take a pay cut.
Folk cost us the Bengals game that set the tone for our season.We came out looking strong in that game and he cost us 7 points I belive or 4 i dont remember.He is on the downside of his carrer at this point wouldnt be surprised if the Giants sign him which seems to be a trend lately.
People forget that Nick Folk was abysmal the season before he got here. This guy is solid if he can revert back to his pre 2016 form.

Yes. After cutting him in August the Jets quietly resigned Ross Martin to a futures/reserve contract in January. Guess when NFL futures contracts "kick in" for 2017? Catanzaro's a big boy with a big leg but after his rookie FG streak his numbers haven't been all that consistent esp. for an Arizona warm-weather kicker.
Good point. There were at least 20 players in 48 hours that the sports media tied to the Jets. None of those 20 was Beachum or Catanzaro. They know nothing, because Mac runs a tight ship. But they have to put a story out there so they invent garbage, or if your so inclined "fake news".
Folk missed some other chip shot extra points and field goals that cost us. Hindsight being 20/20, I'm happy about that because we'd be picking lower than 6.
ouch,. His 75% accuracy tied with Blair Walsh for 2nd-worst in the NFL. The only kicker to rate worse was Roberto Aguayo (71%). Leave it to the Jets to sign a kicker that was one of the worst in the league last year.
