Really like this. Didn’t know much about him before this week but by all accounts, he’s a legitimate starting guard.

So that’s two new starters... three if you include Fant but that’s probably a downgrade right now... I’m hoping this means we go WR at 11 if one of the top two are there.

Good, hopefully a reasonable contract as he's nothing special but likely an upgrade from Winters. I'd be willing to bring Winters back for depth at a reduced salary but that's unlikely.

Still want Beachum back to compete at LT.

Isn’t he like a below average journeyman with issues in pass protection? Why are we happy about this?

looks like jets can release Winters now.

IMO Id still look to grab a tackle at 11 if one of the top 4 are still there. Otherwise I’d look to WR/edge (if value is there)

Because he’s an upgrade from what we have. He’s an above average pass protector, average run blocker. Rarely penalized.

he is not an above average pass protector. I’m not sure who he is an upgrade over.

I think he’s a depth, training camp signing

It is looking more likely that WR is the selection at 11 rather than OT

He’s literally graded as an above average pass protector by PFF.

A theme may be developing, isn't the center the same?

About time tbh we have had enough penalties over the last three years or so, dumb ones as well.

    Edit:

Eh nevermind. Not worth it. But this is interesting because I was told he’s bad in pass protection.

Which would be the right move.

Darnold will have a #1 WR next year. And hopefully Anderson as #2

A below average pass protector I’ve been told.

Another great move by Douglas. I don't think fans realize how bad the o-line was last year, which is surprising because it was pretty obvious to see, as it literally crippled the offense. This should mean Winters is cut too, which I am fine with. OT is still on the table at #11 overall though. If they re-sign Beachum, then I would say yeah, probably going Jeudy or Lamb at #11.

We still don’t have an LT so not a given that we go WR in the draft (I’m assuming Fant is not a long term option). It does give us that flexibility though.

I'd re sign Beachum, now. Winters is most likely gone.

    Good signing.
