I don't like it as much now. Hard to imagine we're gonna offer Badger or Whitehead a deal they'll accept. This is an overpay, but at least it's on a young guy on the rise.
A lot of people calling this a big loss for the Seahawks, which any of us should love, but also means that we probably had to overpay to get him out of Seattle.
I don't think it's much of an overpay at this point. Gonna need to see the guarantees first before I say that for sure. When you see Jackson get 16.5 and Davis get 15, 11 seems pretty fair for Reed.
You don't pay a depth guy $11mil APY. He's a penciled in starter. I'd have to imagine that takes us out of the running for Sauce at 4/10. I'm very meh on this. Love the upside but don't love gambling like this.
Not sure this is an overpay. In addition to being a young guy on the rise, he had an excellent past season. This guy isn't depth IMO. He's starting
I liked the signing but after seeing the contract its a little puzzling. He's probably better than Echols, maybe even Carter, but if we go CB with a high pick this is a depth signing. Unless he starts at nickle? Kind of surprised we spent that much here.
I don't agree with this. Reed's contract would be up by the time we'd have to make any sort of long-term commitment to Sauce/Stingley/McDuffie/etc. I think this was JD giving Saleh some guaranteed help in the secondary after missing on Williams.
He's definitely better than Echols or Carter at this point. Considering teams are in a sub package (nickel or dime) more often now than ever, I'm not sure I'd classify him as a "depth signing". He's definitely our CB2 or 3.
I like the move here, just hopes it doesn’t mean we won’t take Sauce at 4/10 if he is available. I guess I gotta see if we address safety first, if we don’t we probably gotta take one in first or second round for sure!
By all means it looks like he's going to be our 2. He's a starter without question. Just more money than I'd like to give someone that hasn't had more than one really good year. I don't dislike the signing at all, I'm just in "wait and see" mode.
