    Why????????????

    New York Jets ‏@nyjets 4m
The Jets have signed QB Brady Quinn and released QB Graham Harrell.

Sounds like Sanchez will be inactive Week 1. All I can think of. Still, I would insert Simms before Quinn if anything happened to Geno.

Maybe this means Sanchez will be IR'd. Smh if only McElroy could've stayed healthy.

Im not lying, Brady came into my job on Friday with his girlfriend/wife and I told him as he was walking out "Brady, come to the Jets, I dont want Geno"

you know just fucking around. He laughs and this is what he tells me...

    "Rex is gonna get fired"
    and im like
    "But hes a great coach"
    and he said
"You gotta win now in this league."

I really hope he comes back now. He's not going to play or anything, but he is an experienced back up. Even if he is really terrible.

Only this fanbase could find a way to be up in arms over cutting the 4th string QB to sign another 4th string QB. Who cares? Does it change ANYTHING whatsoever about the QB situation?

Nobody is up in arms over the Quinn signing. Still, it makes you worry about Sanchez's health for sure. Reports of him being unlikely to play Week 1 seem to be true.

I like the move. Hell, Quinn might be the best QB on the roster.

Reactions like "WHY?????" and "holy dogshit!" aren't exactly ho-hum responses...

I thought it was pretty well-established that he wasn't going to be ready for week 1. Maybe this just solidifies it, but then again, I have to ask... who cares? Sanchez has no place on this team after this year. Hell, he might not even have one THIS year. We are going nowhere with him, we are going nowhere without him. We are rebuilding, if anything, it's better to do it without him. Anyone "worrying" about Sanchez is just looking for things to complain about.

PS: Not taking a shot at you necessarily, just those who have and will make this way bigger of a deal than it actually is.

Does that mean that when Rex said to him "Welcome to the Jets" he replied "You're gonna get fired"? Not sure what Brady Quinn knows about winning in the NFL either.

In any event, he is presumably only here to be 3rd string QB until Sanchez is healthy. The only way this matters is that as noted above it could indicate that Sanchez is weeks away from being able to play.

It changes EVERYTHING. This signing has set us back yet another 2 years, destroyed team morale, derailed future signings for next summer, turned the team into a bigger circus and is borderline racist.

just scraping the bottom of the barrell

my concern is that they give him playing time instead of Simms. that would be a waste.

It makes no difference between Quinn and Harrell. The big concern is that they can't make up their damn minds on who they want on the roster.

    It's a joke.

Heh, well he does have actual starting experience so I see the rationale behind the signing.

This is a non story.. Brady Quinn wont even be good enough to be a backup in this league in a year or two.

Nobody should care about this meaningless signing. It's just an extreme insurance policy that likely will never need to be cashed.

Yeah, I said "Why?" because I personally feel he is terrible and would rather insert Simms if Geno gets hurt. Now you ask, okay if Simms gets hurt do I want Harrell or Quinn? The answer is "who cares? the Jets are not going to win." so why even make the move? Then explained all it really shows is Sanchez likely will be out Week 1 and possibly beyond.

Why not take a chance on Tyler Wilson instead of Quinn. Quinn is awful. Our QB situation is terrible so why not take a chance with a guy that was once mentioned as a first round pick.
