Bad pick, bunch of qualified o-lineman were available but now we can let Petty and Simms to compete for the #3... yay. edit - greatest pick of all time
Great pick, no doubt about that. A great value, could have gone as early as round 2. Having said that, though, I kind of wanted Hundley more. But I can't complain.
Would have much rather had Hundley, but at this point every QB is a crapshoot. Hopefully we do this the right way and he sits for at least this year.
Mikey Mac getting shit done lol...I don't mind Petty only cause A) he certainly doesn't need to play right away and B) Gailey runs a spread offense similar to what Petty had in college.
Thoughts 1. Thank goodness it wasnt Hundley 2. I dont love it but I understand it, gotta keep trying to get a QB until you have one 3. Lets hope the kid can show something 4. We really have to address the O line from here on in
And the fact that they traded up, even so slightly tells you all you need to know about how they feel about Geno. A poor man's Brett Favre--a gun slinger who looks the part. Red shirt him a year and let er rip. _
Thrilled with this pick. The guy has excellent talent and arm strength, yet enough mobility to not be a statue in the pocket. Will be redshirted his rookie year as his downside is his NFL transition. Spend the year teaching him to make it in the pros, and let him compete for the starting job next year. QB being the most important position on the team, I'd rather the Jets use a pick on a super talented and raw player as a down the road option rather than not draft a QB at all and continue to suck at the position. If after one year the team doesn't think he has a future, they can draft another next year. Never stop drafting QBs until we have our guy.
Since a lot of experts on tgg say its "another miss" that locks petty in as the next Namath. Can't wait for this thread to get bumped. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I don't know what you guys are watching I saw a lot of UCLA games watching Hundley He is not a good QB
ESPN covered this guy so much in the weeks leading up to the draft, you would have thought he was a 1st round prospect. I may still have some of that DVR'd, I hope so, I'll have to go back and check. He was in the studio at least once, maybe more, talking to the ESPN crew, doing drills, etc. Hopefully that's a good sign.
