Having no experience in training camps, ie:is never having been to one, i assumed practices would be longer than three hours a day. Does thiis include "classroom" work as well? (Do they even have a class room setting? I remember seeing settings like that on hard knocks.

Forgive my ignorance on the matter

These are just the on-field practices that are open to the public to view. They have classroom time later in the day. In the past (old CBA) they did plenty of double sessions with a second practice from 1-4 pm.

I'm definitely going to have to pay a visit. I really would be interested to see the competition at safety, as well as RT.

Ive been to the Hofstra one last year, and while its awesome to see the players and everything I dont think its worth it.

It just gets so crowded making entering/leaving a huge hassle, plus you really dont get to see much.

Guess its worth doing once in your life, but really not much of a point of making a yearly affair out of it

I go visit my mom in gouverneur from VA every summer and have coordinated it with camp in Cortland on the way. This year I booked a hotel to break the trip up, does anyone know a good restaurant where there is Jets fanfare to hit for dinner?
I just hope the Tebow BS doesn't ruin something that has become a really nice tradition.

I remember 2 yrs ago the Jets listed what was going to be practiced at each practice...for example "special teams" (don't waste your time driving out to a "special teams" practice).

Are they doing that this year?

Maybe with the new CBA and only "one a days" they'll practice everything every practice???

Also, from my personal experience the Jets practice on a grass field (not the main Cortland Uni field with bleachers) so if you're planning on going, get there EARLY to get a spot along the fence -or- a spot on the one tiny bleacher!

They also have the kid's stuff set up and a big tent with reasonably priced (hahahahahahahahahahaha) stuff you can mortgage your house to acquire.

Looking forward to going to Cortland again. They have a great downtown near the field with a ton of great bars/restaurants with really cheap prices. I definitely will be going to Central City and Hairy Tony's again!

No more 2-A-Days sucks for fans who will travel there as there will be nothing to do after 11:00, but I guess it is good for the players. I'll miss them. I still plan on going up in early August for a couple days.

  10. I know Florham park is limited..but does Cortland only hjave one tiny bleacher? Hard knocks seemed to depict a large section for fans to sit?

Going back, was there in '09. The Hope Lake Lodge offers a "Jets Camp Package." www.hopelakelodge.com/

As for 'Jet' restaurants, while not fine dinning, Doug's Fish Fry is very Jet-friendly: www.dougsfishfry.com/dff_cortland/dougs_NYJets.php

    Foodwise:
    - Melodyland (good, basic family-owned Italian)
    - Pontillo's Pizzeria (good wings)
    - Green Arch (old school 50's joint, good food, cash only -- fwiw, didn't take credit cards in '09)

Sweet, thanks. I booked a room at the country suites ($179) for Wednesday night. I'll check out Doug's or maybe the pizza joint for the wings.

My avatar tends bar at a restaurant in the Cortland area and claims to have met several Jets. The only ones she recognized was Mark and Rex (on different nights). She called me when Rex was there but by the time I got there (about an hour) he'd just left but a bunch of suits where still there. Office types I didn't recognize.

I used to go to Hofstra a good deal, when camp was held there, and I lived on Long Island. It was a lot of fun; even when the team was terrible.
