Kinda shocking. I know he got injured, it must have been bad enough to let him go because from what we saw in the preseason, he and Sanchez had some nice chemistry. It also leaves us down a man at the position we need the most help at.

That is a bit of a head scratcher ... I guess Hill & Schillens gave them enough confidence to go without him.

#RL Jets have waived WR Patrick Turner, released DB LeQuan Lewis from the practice squad, and signed LB Ricky Sapp to the P-squad.

Numbers game, they're making room for somebody.

And I can't believe anyone would say that WR is the position we need the most help at after Sunday. We need help in the offensive backfield.

Depth. I think it's a bit ignorant to think Holmes, Kerley and Schillens will stay healthy considering in the past few years neither have been able to. Plus Hill is a rookie, he's going to start felling it as the season progresses. Turner would be a nice set of fresh legs come week 8 to sub in and out with Hill and Schillens as that downfield or over the middle guy.

Maybe they're going to bring in Plax for the redzone now that his salary won't be guaranteed? Probably unlikely after Sundays performance, but I could still see it working out.

You need depth at every position. If Greene goes down, which he will, we have Powell and McKnight to fail in the backfield. If Bryan Thomas gets injured again, our run defense at the second level goes from back to terrible. If Landry or Bell gets knocked out, we're back to Eric Smith again.

Depth is a problem on the entire team, and I'm not really sold by his limited performance that Turner is that indispensible or that our WR corps is any thinner than a lot of other units on the field.

I don't know if it's going to be Burress, but I absolutely think this is related to the fact that salaries are no longer guaranteed. I would expect them to be signing a veteran with issues (injury/attitude) who can be released if things don't work out.

Stephen Hill? Thinking a banged-up Turner won't be productive + Newfound confidence the other 4 WR's? I've gotta hope Turner gets replaced by a RB or WR.

Interesting....Obviously means we have someone lined up for WR, just wonder who it is. I can see Plaxico, or maybe even Stallworth maybe.

I'd assume they'd be looking to bring in another WR but don't be surprised if they take a chance on one of those remaining FA RBs like Grant.

As I noted last week, @Sapp55 was on his way back---was just a matter of time. He'll test the ankle this week. If fine, he'll be activated.

We're probably grabbing another RB or maybe another WR. Patrick Turner has been here for years and never did anything. We have to look elsewhere.

Too bad I thought turner had an excellent pre-season and that he seemed to have really gelled with Sanchez. (not a bad way to make $250,000)

I wouldn't mind him either, although the 5th WR doesn't really see much light on our roster anyway. I doubt we roll with just 4 WRs, so I think they pick up a WR.
