the blatant disrespect for the Jets is making this season even more exciting for me. On NFL AM today they were analyzing the AFC East...they said "The Patriots are in a terrible division. They might be able to win the division with 7 wins. I don't know if anyone below them will even reach 6 wins." And note, they had the Jets in 3rd meaning they are thinking 4 - 5 wins for them this year. They also called the game against the Jets a "gimme" for the Pats. It's official. Everyone and their mother are writing the Jets off. And I can't wait for them to shut their fat heads up.

i read power rankings all the time and always defend the jets as i think they are unfairly being criticized. that being said, i don't think 21 is out of the question AS OF WHAT WE'VE SEEN. our offense has looked abysmal so far. i know its just preseason, but we all know thats what people are thinking when they are thinking about power rankings. by the end of the year, i think we all think the jets are better than the 21st best team in the nfl, but as it stands right now i think 21 is fine (i'm used to seeing 26s etc in power rankings)

no, they aren't going to look like retards, because everybody already knows that the rankings are a week by week opinion and the season will likely differ from the rankings. if the Jets are good they will write something good about them. how is it anymore blatant than any other team they don't think is very good like the Vikings of Dolphins? why should the Jets be exempt from negative opinion of their ability, especially in light of how bad they were in the preseason? please explain.
I'll enjoy watching us move up the rankings week by week, all of a sudden it'll be like week 10 and were in the top 10.
I mean it's one thing if you want to use legitimate reasons for putting the Jets at #21. Granted the offense didn't look great in pre-season, but at the same time the defense looked elite without a doubt. If you're going to use the basis of pre-season to judge one aspect of the Jets as a whole, you have to use it to gauge the other part of the team equally. Otherwise you're a huge hypocrite. Any objective observer who weights both offense and defense in equal amounts would solidly put the Jets as a middle-of-the-pack team at the very least. Hell, I'd say they're top ten if the offense isn't completely abysmal and the defense performs as well as we think they will.
