Geno not much better, get down! The quarterback should not be taking these kinds of hits. Yesterday, #14 and #7 taking licks for not getting down. Honestly, will be very surprised if Geno starts this week...Kid got crushed on a few brutal hits yesterday...
I hesitate to blame this on the coaches, but this needs to be stressed more during practice. Fitz and Geno have now both played this season, and both took crazy chances while running the ball and have been decked by defenders. I think you can coach a player to slide in those situations. I'm not sure Bowles is the guy to do it, but Gailey should know better.
We should hire Rex back to teach sliding practice again. Watch Russell Wilson play - The dude gets every yard he can, but slides and goes out of bounds to save himself. Even so, he takes plenty of shots - just not the complete blow ups that Geno or Vick take. Fitz's was a freak thing. Woodson went to punch the ball and caught Fitz's thumb. He could've been hurt the same if he slid.
