This parallels my sentiment on Warren. I watched a lot of PSU games. Like the player. He had a great year. I'm not sure he's really much better a prospect than the several other who went for over 1,000 receiving yards, have similar size, have (in some cases) better athleticism numbers, and have similar ht/wt that are going to be available in round 2.

I respectfully disagree. Most of the TE prospects beyond Fanin are very one dimensional. If you can’t block as a TE in the NFL you could be as athletic as Kyle Pitts (who is far more athletic as a receiver than any of these TE’s), but if you can’t block then you can only be out there on obvious passing downs. Warren can block, he needs work still but right off the bat you could run a single back play with him lined up and the D still has to respect the run. That matters. I’m not saying my 1st choice is Warren, but he is the cream of the crop in this draft for TE’s in my opinion.

The thing is, if you look at his total yards, no one comes even close in years in P5 conferences. 1486 total yards (that's about 50% more than a 1000), and 13 total TDs. And yes that includes 30 yards passing and a passing TD also :). He actually was a QB in HS, which explains why he is a late bloomer. Penn state faced some of the best competition in the nation too. This type production is no joke at this level of competition.

There's a stark fact unfolding as I read all your different viewpoints on the draft etc., the offensive side of the ball is having a down year, big time. Outside of a few players, there really isn't anyone to get excited about. I hope someone trades up. The farther back they can go, the best. It's just sad. I know that O-line is deeeeeeep but I said EXCITED! lol

It's going to be a boring draft.

Understand your points for sure but it’s his blocking.

Yeah I don’t think he’s a better receiver than Ferguson from Oregon. I love Ferguson and hope we take him but Warren is a way better blocker

Mitchell Evans is probably the guy if you’re looking for a more well rounded blocker but he’s slow as dirt. Still think he’d be a good addition in the later rounds.

Almost none of these guys are ever going to come out of college as polished blockers anymore unfortunately. The nature of the college spread is to put them on the wing/slot or in motion and put them in the pattern or block a backside defender rather than front side so it’s a lazy assignment.

^ What Nagle said. That also doesn’t even feel that impressive given his size. There were 3 offensive lineman, 1 edge and 1 tightend that went over 30 reps at the combine and they don’t look like they’re going to collapse while jogging.

I saw that...shit, run exclusively a 3-4, throw his butt in the middle and call it a day! At that size he'll eat up the Center and BOTH guards! LOL!!! That's just a massive human being.:D:D

Ray was a speed demon….a little too small but capable of a big play at any time….not sure how tall the son is? But we know Glenn loves speed so sure I’d like to see what he could do …

    EDIT:

Just read his scouting report - I’d really like to see the Jets bring him in….6 foot good range, fast, his negatives don’t seem prohibitive…. Great depth possible starting material can be had possibly 4th/5th round ..

“Big play Ray” was cool. I’d give his kid a shot

I think Ray was 5’8”? Too small to start but a great nickel back …

Is number 24 retired? Or just held back temporarily

Well, Deion is now walking back his comments saying he's down with with "wherever". Which to me basically translates out to being legitimately concerned about all the surrounding possibility of his kid's draft stock tanking lol

So I assume Cleveland at #2 is back in play.

No ones talking about this, but I watched that interview, and he went onto say something very telling imo. I think the jets want shedeur and the jets are the team Josina Anderson reported on that the qb coach said shedeur is arrogant and gave a poor interview when it’s not true. I think your qb coach did that to see if he could stop shedeur to 7. I think they want him

Like i said at the time I actually believe that incident boils down to the Jets likely being overly-defensive to the fact that the kid's team was likely viewing a visit with pick #7 team as a waste of their time.

Regardless I was only discounting Cleveland because of the Deion factor. If that isn't going to be an issue, and given the massive financial hole they've dug themselves at QB, I now can't really see them passing over Shadeur on a rookie contract.
