Not sure it really matters. GM and HC appointments (and structure) far more important at this point to get right. if I had one wish it would be to see a change of ownership this year!
can't wait till little brick does his Madden Mock draft and finds us the great Zack Wilsons replacement.
As of right now, my top 2 would be; Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State I’d throw Mason Graham (DT, Michigan) in there too but I don’t think he makes it to 7.
Tackle seems like the most reasonable selection unless a top player like Mason Graham or Will Johnson fall.
Its still early, but I think Carter is one of the first non-QB's off the board, can't see him making it to 7. Also, with McDonald and JJ coming back, not sure edge in the top 10 is a wise use of resources.
The good thing about the way the top 3-4 has shaken out this afternoon/evening is it’s almost a guarantee Shedeur and Cam go 1-2, in some order. Travis Hunter will likely go shortly after that (3rd-4th). That’s just going to push really good players down the board to us. Give me one of Tet McMillian, Mason Graham, Kelvin Banks Jr., or Abdul Carter at 7 and I’m pretty happy with it.
I think Graham makes it to our selection and he’s a great player. But Derrick Brown from Auburn was a great player (and similar skill set) around the same slot a couple of years ago for the Panthers. He’s been a good NFL player but doesn’t really move the needle for the franchise like I think we need especially with our decent defensive pieces in place already.
Ideally we’d take Banks as the eventual Moses replacement. We all know how important it is to have good OL depth. I don’t disagree on Carter either but it def feels like offense will dominate the top 5 as of right now. I’m sure it’ll change as we go through the process but as of now, feels like Shedeur, Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, and Tet McMillian are locks for the top 5. Some good players will fall as a result of that.
I dont get it with Campbell. He's a solid player, but I wouldnt be surprised if he gets taken a lot later than people think. There are better prospects, even at tackle, imo.
I don’t think McMillan is selected in the top 5 at all. Maybe top ten. Good player with obviously impressive size. His twitch and route running are huge concerns though. He was a good contested catch guy in college but not great. Nothing like Mike Evans was at A&M that’d make you overlook the possible inability to seperate at the next level.
I don't think he makes it past the Raiders at 6 now so you might be right but could also see him going 4th to the Pats. I guess we’ll see.
Actually, with both QB's going, Jets will be guaranteed one of Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, Tet McMillan, Will Johnson, or Mason Graham. Could even take Banks. Jets will get a good player.
Seems likely he moves inside at the next level so not sure that’s someone we want to invest a top 7 pick in.
