It occurred to me that Chad looks rubbish in the fourth quarter of games, rarely threatening to lead the team to points like in earlier quarters. In addition, the team generally seems to struggle late in games - questionable fitness?

    Thought I'd investigate a little:

@ NYG: Jets didn't score in the 4th quarter, Chad threw two picks, we punted once and turned the ball over on downs once. The only drive of note went 7 plays for 44 yards and ended in Ross' first pick. (NYJ 0-14 NYG)

@ BUF: Jets scored a touchdown on an 11 play, 64 yard drive, Chad threw two picks, the second with a game-tying FG in sight. (NYJ 7-10 BUF)

vs MIA: Jets finished a drive that began in the 3rd Q with a touchdown. Miami had two long (but quick) TD drives and in between Chad drove the team 31 yards on 7 plays before punting. We kneeled the game out after recovering an onside kick. (Quarter score: MIA 14-7 NYJ)

@ BAL: Chad didn't play in Q4, Jets and Kellen scored a bunch of points on three good drives and held up well on defense. (NYJ 10-3 BAL)

vs NEP: Chad didn't play in Q4, Jets and Kellen went nowhere, NE scrubs scored twice. (NEP 10-0 NYJ)

    Pretty dismal, huh?

On reflection, perhaps it's the 4th Quarter defense that needs examining? 50+ points against in 5 games is embarrassing.
