As written by Mark Kriegel, Fox Sports http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7467484 A few excerpts: "It's been tough with the Patriots," said Sean Van Patten, an oddsmaker with Las Vegas Sports Consultants, a much-respected outfit that furnishes opening lines for most of the Nevada casinos. "Every week we've raised the numbers." "And every week, it seems, the Patriots raise them some more. At this point, the parlay sheets come with two seemingly free bets: New England and the over. Even the smart-money types who typically bet the underdogs are staying away from Pats." "So disregard coaches and players who say it's not personal. It's very personal, and none more so than the Patriots' date with the Jets Dec. 16 in Foxborough. The line is already 22, a number owing much to the fact that the Spygate whistle-blower was Jets coach Eric Mangini, a former Belichick protege." "We definitely factor that in," said Van Patten, "Belichick wants to kill these guys. He'll put up 100 if he can."
Lay a season ending injury on Brady, flick of Belichimp on the way off the field and happily accept the punishment. That would be a victory in my mind.
38-14 The Pats are beating people by 25 pretty consistently, so I think you;ll see this line move 2 points or so....just a guess.
are you kidding me? you would think mangini learned something from being on the soprano's. dont mess with the OG Belicheck. The line this week for the pats game is already predicted to beat the highest one in history against the eagles at 24 points
Take your 50, lock in the pats with the low spread. Take 50 more, play the Jets with the high spread, land in the middle collect both ways.
I have a feeling they will try to put up 70+. That way they can say to the rest of the league, "now that was running it up." No mystery here but there most certainly will be no handshake at the end of this game. Both coaches will turn for the runway as soon as the final whistle blows.
To make things worse, for me at least. That is the game in which Brady will probably beat the TD record set by Peyton Manning. Paging Mo Lewis....Paging Mo Lewis...Will Mo Lewis please report to the Jets
I don't know, it seems to me that he has a lot of home games coming up...the weather will not suit the passing attack so much, so he may slow down.
If this happened, the Pats would trade away there draft for Champ Baily, Brian Urlacher and Juius Peppers.
I just hope this is going to be on TV here. PC is pretty good , but I want to kick back in my living room for this one. There is just so much riding on this game its ridiculous , this is our superbowl , can we be Chicago please?
Dam, at that price I'll put $50 on the Jets $line and hope Brady gets injured... Worth a shot for such a sick return... If the casinos would even take that bet...
the line should be higher then 22 and i'd expect it to go higher by game time. Only how high? To be honest the spread really should be 28.5. But chances are Vegas wont allow it to go that high and may set it 24-26. my own opinion.
