A lot of people thought the 49ers would take Rodgers last year. No one thought he would drop as far as he did. If you don't like Kiper, fine, but don't let that be the reason.
No he didnt he was the biggest Alex smith groupie last year.. in fact he stood on alex smith being #1 the whole entire time. thats his final mock draft the day efore the draft.
Neither Alex Smith or Aaron Rogers deserved to go #1 overall last year. Still, I like Rogers as a better prospect than Smith.
Scott Wright of nfldraftcountdown.com, who I think is really good had Rogers over Smith last yr. even one day before the draft. but he was one of the only few to place Rogers over Lienart in SEPTEMBER so he knew who rogers was early then everyone followed suit. I guess he stuck on rogers like glue cause he was one of the rogers pioneers. I remember Kiper backed out of rogers last minute... there was one draft "guru" who said rogers would go wherever the cheifs were picking 15 on the thursday before the draft. I think that would have happened but thank the lions for screwing that up they should have picked Johnson not another WR. SO rogers fell even further. I am still suprised nobody traded up for him so he might have been overhyped.
