CJ, Ivory, Powell and Richardson. It's a high attrition position and the Jets will likely be looking for a guy on the street by mid-season if they go with 3. All 4 of those guys are significantly better than what the Jets will find if somebody goes down. It's going to be tough with all the WR bodies in camp but they probably need to PS the rookies and go with 5 WR's. Amaro can be their flex guy. Keep 3 TE's with Cumberland and Sudfeld alongside Amaro who will often be on the field as a slot WR. They'll have the rookies to call off the PS if there is a WR injury.
Not eligible. He's got 24 games played over two years, the limit is 5 I believe. The Jets have decisions to make this year. They're going to let go of at least a couple of talented players in the process. I think RB is a bad position to do that at when you want to run the ball as much as the Jets do.
I think they will keep 4 until Barnes comes off the PUP. Ivory, CJ, and Powell > All those guys battling minor injuries.
The Jets aren't going into the season with 4 RBs and no FBs, the WCO Marty uses has a shitload of FB responsibilities.
It really is only a matter of roster space. Richardson has earned serious consideration for a roster spot, I feel fine with him making the team if he does. The question is: over who? If he was any kind of returner, easy decision keep him. but as is he'll be fighting a spot with STer's and bubble WR's. Is he a necessity to have aboard over a Ford or Salas?
They'll likely be battling minor injuries all season long. I make the Jets out as likely to run the ball 500+ times this year. That's a bruising workload even in an RBBC.
4 RB's, Bohanon, 5 WR's, 3 TE's. One of the WR's needs to return kicks so probably Ford there with Saunders on the PS in case he gets hurt.
Richardson looked really good. I don't think it'd be a bad idea to see if you can get a mid-round pick for Powell from a RB-needy team. I like Powell a lot too, but I think he's overqualified to be a third RB and Richardson would be really good at that job anyway.
With Ivory's injury history and CJ2K coming off [minor] knee surgery, trading Powell would be ill-advised, the ONLY situation I would be ok with this is if he was traded for a veteran corner of some kind. But then again, cuts are coming up and I'd like to see who is available first.
I agree with your stuff in this thread except the Saunders to the PS bit. Somebody will take him if the Jets put him there.
Not long ago you were advocating zero fullbacks, and now you want a skeleton crew at WR to compensate for a FB and a fourth RB? I'm thinking that your post has been photoshopped.
