We have the luxury of taking two premier pass rushers in the 1st and 2nd round there will still be good value at RB and WR in the 3rd and 4th rounds. We could walk away from this draft with one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL Go Jets!!!!!!!!

BPA in every round. If that's how it shakes out, so be it. With that said, it's not happening.

bpa is a wive's tale. You take the best player you can find at your positions of need and it has always been that way. you only take bpa if you need everything and the jets certainly do not.

Change "dangerous teams" to dangerous defences"

Without a qb we are still middle of the pack in that scenario....

We were 6th in sacks with arguably the worst secondary in the NFL. Also, our HC has a proven reputation of being able to manufacture a pass rush with out the need of one or more dominant pass rusher. Based on those facts, pass rushers in the first 2 rounds or even just the first round would be luxury pick(s) IMO.

Yup. This team is already pretty stout on defense. Loading up there with 2 pass rushers is as silly as drafting BPA.

If the BPA is a DT/DE, taking him would be unnecessary overkill.

Taking 2 pass rushers on a team with a rebuilt and very formidable secondary is unnecessary overkill.

After QB, best available offensive Tackle or WR.

BPA is not nearly as black and white as people make it seem. On both sides.

Taking a DE/DT at 6 because he is the best player when there is a slightly worse WR/OLB is dumb. It has to be best player when taking need into consideration. But if there is a OL/WR/OLB all available, you take the best player out of the 3.

But if Winston/Mariota are gone one and two, I'd be furious if the Jets took Bryce Petty at 6 because QB is the teams biggest need.

There is some gray area in Best Player Available.

There is nothing wrong with BPA and/or overkill when you are stout at every position. We're just not in that category.

Maybe none. However, if they do exist, they would more than likely be drafting at the bottom of the order rather than the top.

the jets do need everything, other then CB maybe DE/DT, even then we might lose wilkerson in the next year or two so insurance there wouldnt be bad

i think we still need safety help

    we definitely need lb help

    we need a pass rusher

we need tackles and gaurds, and a longterm replacment/insruance behind mangold wouldnt be a bad idea either

    we need WR help

    we need HB help

    we need TE help

    we need a QB

I think WR is a bigger need then most of you do. Gailey will have 3-4 WRs on the field most of the time what happens if Decker pulls a hammy again, or Marshal misses a few weeks. After them 2 we are very thin

I think we need a WR at some point too as I think Marshall will only be here a year much like Harvin was last year. Maybe with the first pick and maybe with the second.

    agreed.
i look at the draft as the future, not necessarily the present. we don't have many positions sured up beyond 2016, which is when this years draft class will hopefully be coming into their own.

makes sense to take the best player available at the 6.
if deciding between a couple prospects, the positions i'd weight with more gravity are QB and OT, as they are big needs at positions of great impact for our future.

yeah but you don't use your 1st and 2nd round picks on insurance..that's what the later picks are for.

What we need to do is take a QB named Mariota or Hundley.

I agree we need one, by why two pass rushers? We have Coples on one side, and he's improved as a pass rusher and starting to emerge a little bit entering his 4th season. Plus the Sons of Anarchy will create pressure up front. I think if we add one big time pass rusher we will have a super elite D!

I don't think it will happen. The really attacked the defense this offseason. Its time to pay some attention to the offensive side. Doesn't make much sense winning or losing games 3-0/7-3.
