did anyone see the episode the other day when Fireman Ed surveyed people from the streets about their all time favorite Jets moment? one guy said Vinny Testaverde returning and beating the bucs. what a beautiful moment. it almost brought a tear to my eye thinking about it. :jets: :jets:
another guy mentioned jumbo catching the TD, and some other imbecile was like, yeah that tampa bay monday night was a good one. Fireman Ed was like do you remember who threw Wayne the game winning td and he of course said no. amazing how unprofessional and low budget that show is, but, its better than nothing...
My favorite Jet memory was win vs Dolphin inwhich I think was in 1981. The Jets won by a point, 17-16 or 16-15 on a 2 minute 70-80 drive by Todd. The win put the Jets in the division lead with only a few games left in the season (unfortunately we upset by the Seahawks). The game was really a coming of age game for a young Jet team. The Jets had suffered miserably through the 70's and it finally appeared we had made it back. My other favorite game would be the Playoff win against the Bengals in 82 it was such a dominant win similar to the 2002 Indy playoff win and the 98 Jacksonville win. The win against the Dolphins on the last game of the season that pout us in the playoffs against the Oilers was also quite memorable for me. As the game was schedulded to be on where I was living but come 1pm the Browns and Pittsburg was on. I got in my car and drove 200 miles until I was able to get the game on the radio. Just in time for the tying drive. A lot of people talk about the Monday night miracle but forget the other comeback wins that same season against the Bucs, Patriots, Colts and I believe one other sill comeback earlier that season. That Buc win 2000 was a pretty amazing comeback as was the Patriots one on Monday night football.
Favorite Jets moment was probably the Green Bay game in 2002... That game became so ELECTRIC once we (the crowd) knew that all we had to do was win and we would be the division champs...Great stuff Plus we beat the crap out of them.
Man, you had that Ty Law pic in your avatar for so long I do not recognize your posts anymore. I actually have to look at the username.
Did you start dating a girl around that time? Because thats the same for me...I started to date my current girlfriend during the 2002 season. We have been dating now for almost 4 years.
That was awesome - 2nd Jets game I ever went to. I remember watching the early Pats vs. Fins game at a nearby bar because we needed either the Pats to win that game or one other game to go in our favor. Ricky Williams was destroying the Pats D and when we finally had to leave to make it to the game on time it looked hopeless. As we were walking into the stadium the results of the other game game in and it was not in our favor, so we thought we'd be watching a meaningless game. When hope was all but lost, that ELECTRIC waved throughout the stadium and the Jets ROLLED over Brett Favre and the Pack. Awesome man, awesome. I was at ticketmaster 12 noon the next day to get playoff tix - got to watch the J-E-T-S piss all over the colts in the meadowlands.
hah...yea i figured since he wasn't on the team anymore i needed a new one going to be rough when mario goes #2...not sure where to turn then...im not very good with avatars
Yeah, I am a seasons ticket holder and those two games were just an incredible stretch... 8,000th post!
Haha...oh well. I thought perhaps that might have been the case for you as it was a very good time for me.
Yes that was an unbelievable game. It was a great weekend since I came down with a few other people from PA and stayed at the same hotel as the Packers were. I got some good autographs there and some Jets players beforehand at the game. The best was when the Patriots pulled off a 10 point comeback with 4 minutes left to beat Miami and give us the chance to get into the playoffs and the way the crowd roared once we found out. Then of course the game itself was amazing. And tailgating after the game and the fireworks they lit off from the stadium.... Damn I miss THAT Chad Pennington, but I think he's gone forever unfortunatley. But wow... By far my best moment as a Jets fan... Great times....
Is it just me or is Jets Nation an embarrassment of a program. It's half the show Jets Journal was and you can't even compare it to 24/7. Hopefully SNY redeems themselves with their Jets pre-draft show this Sat at 11:30
My favorite moment was when Doug Brien MISSED that FG against the Steelers. It was the last time we saw the PIECE OF SH*T in a Jets uniform ... But seriously, Monday Night Miracle has to top it off
