As part of Yardbarker's article "Every NFL team's most overrated player" New York Jets: Le'Veon Bell, RB Bell is one of the most dynamic running backs in the game, but Pittsburgh's production at the running back position last season while Bell held out demonstrates his overrated value. The team improved by 0.4 yards per carry and had four more rushing touchdowns than in 2017 when Bell started 15 games. When Bell was on the field most recently, he averaged only 4.0 yards per carry, and he's now taken a full season away from the game. Faced with a worse supporting cast in New York, Bell's impact will likely be far less than fans expect. Tough to argue with this.
Bell had 476 more yards from scrimmage, 18 more first downs, 1 less TD and 1 less fumble lost. They were also used much differently. Opposing D's didn't have to commit to stopping Connor the way they did Bell, that hurt the WR production and more importantly, the Steelers W-L record. There are definitely more overrated players on the team.....
You can call Bell overpaid and it’s at least defensible. Calling him overrated shows a clear lack of education.
Why?...why you ask? Because there is too much good news coming out of camp and people are starting to feel good about the Jets this year. We simply can't have that.
Exactly. I wish more people around here would take a "wait & see" attitude. The optimism around here is getting out of control.
Do we really need this BS assessment? Calling him the most overrated player based on some pile of shit criteria that can only apply to a guy that actually didn't play. They have fuck all knowledge of what would have been had he been there, as in may be for the Steelers making the playoffs and do something with it.
