I am controlling the Jets in an Online Mock Draft, I traded out of the 4th spot and down to the 9th for the Lions 2nd round pick(#40) but traded my 4th rounder as well. Then at 9 i drafted Deangelo Williams, I was wondering and wanted Jet's fans opinions on who to take with the #35 and #40 picks in the 2nd round.

I personally thought it was a good deal, You picked up a high 2nd round pick and still get a star RB.

agreed. Think about it... if the jets did this, you'd be P.O.'d

It was a good pickup but you shouldnt have given up a 4th rounder IMO but oh well. Check to see if any of these guys are available in the 2nd round- Mercedes Lewis, Leonard Pope, Bobby Carpenter, Manny Lawson, Nick Mangold, Max Jean-Gilles, Marcus McNeill, and depending on who's available in this round, and who it looks like will be available in the later rounds, take your pick....remember that theres plenty of oline depth so some of the 2nd round prospects will fall to te 3rd round. I just scribbled some 1st round prospects that might fall to the 2nd

Did you draft Williams over White?

In the second round go o-line. Mangold, Spencer.

If in the second there arent any good o-line man go BPA of offense, especially if Moss is there.

You better do your homework son. We are about to release our starting QB, RT, C, LG, FB and our starting TE is a UFA. What do you think we need?

with the 35th pick look to draft the BAP Right Tackle. Maybe Marcus McNeil?

With the 40th pick you could go anywhere really. You could go after a NT, OLB, DE, WR, QB and LG. Take whomever you think best fills one of those wholes.

Could you share with us how the first 8 picks went before our pick so we know who you passed on. IMO if we are lucky enough to move down in this draft we would probably target Jay Cutler at 9.

We could use a TE, but not so early in the draft.

That's a little suprising that ALL of those OT's are gone by pick 35. If they are all gone like you said look to get a NT...maybe Gabe Watson?

Im confused...are you in the 2nd round yet? Can you cut and paste the draft? If you are in the 2nd, then Id go with either a LB (Bobby Carpenter or Manny Lawson) or a TE (Leonard Pope of Mercedes Lewis). Since IMO Pope offers the best value of the 4, Id take him, and then a LB/DE with the next pick

Gabe Watson is gone as well, as is Manny Lawson and Bobby Carpenter. Ernie Sims is left however and so is Leonard Pope. Im thinking I go with Leonard Pope at 35, and maybe trade from the 40 down to the late 40's and pick up extra third and maybe even regain the 4th i lost.

That's a funky draft if all of those Olineman are gone as well as Gabe Watson. If those guys are all gone by 35 go with the BPA...

Don't draft a TE...we have much more pressing needs.

Well for now go with Leonard Pope. Our offense has been too anemic for too many years, and if we draft a stud TE like Pope, its gives us 2/3 of the pieces of Schottenheimers offense (RB, TE, with the only other hole being at QB). At 40 I think Id target Mangold, or if hes gone, then best available offensive tackle. I dont think Sims would be a good fit as we're trying to switch to a 3-4.

Tight end IS a pressing need and at that spot Pope is the best value. There are no more run stuffing DTs on board that should be taken before the 3rd round, and theres enough depth at line to take em with the second 2nd rounder...but if Pope is there you jump on him.
