Something that hasn't been mentioned much on this site. There was a clause (not well known) that if Favre retires after 1 year, the Jet's get GB's 7th rd pick. It wasn't clear if it was 2009 or 2010. We won't offically know till the very end of March or early April when the NFL announces the entire 7 rounds which includes comp picks. So the Jets currently have 7 picks, 1 in each Round and could get another 7th rounder. Also, I don't anticipate the Jet's receiving any comp picks, we really didn't lose many players and gained quite a few. Rd 1 Rd 2 Rd 3 from New Orleans (The Jets gave their pick to GB, Favre deal) Rd 4 from Washington (The Jets gave their pick to N.O, Vilma deal, repays last year's 4th rd) If N.O. Vilma signs before FA, the Jet's get their 2nd Rd pick & Giants get their 1st RD pick) It's not going to happen!!! Rd 5 Rd 6 Rd 7 from GreenBay??? Rd 7
UPDATE: Found this a few minutes ago on Great Blue North Draft Site: Now it's 2010!!! February 16 (12:01 AM): New #1 in town? While all appeared to be quiet around the NFL last week as teams geared up for this week?s scouting combine in Indianapolis, the past fortnight or so was actually one of the most important periods on the draft schedule. That?s because most teams around the league use the time between the Super Bowl and combine to put together their preliminary boards for the upcoming draft. In the process it appears that Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree has emerged as the consensus top prospect for the upcoming draft at least for now. That and other changes at the top of the 2009 draft value board are the topics covered in this week?s edition of the Scouts Notebook. At the same time, who?s up and who?s down are reflected in the our latest GBN ?Big Board? ranking of the top 140 overall prospects for this year?s draft. And for good measure, we?ll have an updated two-round projection of this year?s draft on Tuesday. Jets get late future pick to close book on Favre? Assuming veteran QB Brett Favre stays retired, Green Bay will owe the New York Jets a 7th round pick at the 2010 to complete the trade in which the Jets acquired the future Hall-of-Famer last summer. The Packers will still receive a 3rd rounder from the Jets at this year?s draft as the main compensation for Favre who announced he will be retiring earlier this month. The provision attached to the deal which would require the Jets to give the Packers three first-round picks if they were ever to trade Favre to an NFC North team still stands.
No, you are the man. Ziggy in the 1st right? Oh. And I mentioned this much earlier in the season when people were asking about the Favre trade and the stipulations involved. Which would lead to me saying "I said this before".
Oh you're right, I am the man - look at that title under my user name. I won the award that your sorry ass wasn't even nominated for. I respect a lot of opinions on here, but not your's. Ziggy Hood in the first is still a possibility - there's a small chance right now. I think he's going to kill it at the combine - especially the bench press. He's almost everyone's third rated defensive tackle behind Raji and Jerry. I'd take him over Tyson Jackson any day. If Raji and Jerry both go in the top 15-17 picks, like I think, Hood has a decent shot at being drafted by either Indy and Tampa Bay as a 4-3 DT or even Miami as a 3-4 DE. Go work on some more bullshit Madden mock off-seasons.
What's actually funny is that my mocks are no where near Madden-esque and yours are crap. You might have won an award but when you make a mock you get more negative feedback than positive. And you live on these boards - I stop by occasionally to make a post or thread - so you would win an award. I know more than you, I'm confident in that, and by this time next year if I decide to dedicate my life to this board like you have - which is unlikely - I will win that award. In my short amount of time posting here I have come up with many "great finds" as said by others posters, such as FAs Leonard Weaver, Jarrad Page, Ronald Bartell, Derrick Martin, and Ray Willis - all guys whose names are barely known yet would make great inexpensive additions to the Jets, some of which could be starters. It's funny as your defense you bolstered your little online award, had I known there was one and that there was a vote I would surely have not voted for you. Ziggy Hood in the 1st? Go make a finger painting. If you think Hood in the first is a better value than Gilbert in the 2nd you are too fucking stupid. And I would go with Zach Potter in the 6th/7th over Hood in the 1st at #17 any day. There's another name: Zach Potter. Look it up. Dumbass.
I'll be the first to admit..I don't watch a lot of college ball, so I'm not much of a draftnik. However, i do enjoy perusing through the Draft forum, and picking up insight on draft-eligible players from posts made by Mr.E, WW85, and Nesquik...just to name a few off the top of my head. But to say what you just said is fucking pathetic....and deserves absolutely no respect from anybody on this board.
I do all of my draft research from the end of February up to the draft, and I know more than you. now, and my math should be correct, if I>you and Electric, WW85, and nesquik are exponentially smarter than I am when it comes to evaluating prospects, that would mean that Mr.E, WW85, and Nesquik>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..you.
You tend to fight with people because you feel threatened for whatever reason. You get a little too defensive about your top spot on this board. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=41080 two people said good job basically and it wasn't even that, they said they liked donald brown. WW85 even thought you were overreaching by a lot or had players where they wouldn't be at all. Your mocks might have good players but they aren't realistic. The negative feedback is far from just me. And I never said you didn't know anything. I just know that I have a better knowledge of the game both professional and college. You said Josh Freeman was garbage and then took him with the #33 pick of your IMD to be the Lions franchise QB. We will see come draft day who was right and who was wrong.
when you impress me with your draft knowledge, I'll bow down... until then... I should go get my one mock I did last year from the archives. Good names on it plus Gholston because I knew the jets were going to take him. But my 7th round steal made up for it. but let's not make this a pissing contest, I'll let the board speak on this issue.
mick...everyone knows that The GM predicted Vernon Gholston to the Jets two years before it actually happened -- in one of this extremely realistic Two Year Mock Off-Seasons. Basically what I'm saying is: You've got nothing mick, nothing.
in that case ban me from the draft forum.... geez i suck.... and my mock was terrible last year:http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=30269 please "The GM", the foreseer of prospects, enlighten me on knowing who the Jets will pick up in 2011?
