New York Jets safety Doug Middleton will miss the remainder of the season after tearing a pectoral muscle in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. The Jets are hurting at the safety position as Middleton was already filling in for Marcus Maye, who is out with a broken thumb. The 25-year-old undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State also started the first three games of the season in place of Maye and made 27 tackles over seven overall appearances. Unless Maye can somehow making it back playing with a cast on his thumb, Terrence Brooks will be the next man up for the Jets as they get ready to face the Chicago Bears in Week 8. There will also likely be an addition to the 53-man roster as Jamal Adams is the only other healthy player at the position. this is going to be tough. maye and middleton out. that leaves only 2 healthy safeties. we are also missing our number 1 and number 3 CBs as well. missing 3 starters and a top backup in the secondary alone.
Why is Middleton out? He should just man up and play. Be a team leader, show something. Slap a little cold mud on it, tape it up and get out there. Am I doing this right?
This is very upsetting Not because he’s out But because the Toilet now has yet another excuse. He’ll be back in 19 Ugghhhhhhhhhhhh
I’m also starting to get worried about Maye. It’s probably just me thinking about the SAme old Jets, but Maye is a second round pick who is not trending in the right direction. I hope this isn’t the beginning of the end Anyway we’ll probably either resign JJ Wilcox or call up Brandon Bryant from the PS. Both players looked very good in the preseason and hopefully fill a role now that our DBs have gone from a strength to a concern
He has had two injuries since being drafted, played all the first year not missing a game and this season done his ankle and then BROKE a thumb WTF are you dribbling about.
