Maybe he's planning to draft one and sign on. Could be insurance incase he plan to trade back and try to get Chase or Smith. Not very good insurance IMO but eh.
As the 4th or 5th WR...I guess? Anything more than that and this move is seriously questionable. Would rather take a swing at a different player.
I could see it making some sense if the plan is to pursue a WR that plays a lot in the slot like JuJu or Samuel with Perriman as your 3rd/4th guy entering the draft depending on what they do with Crowder. Otherwise, eh.
Perriman sucks, always injured, dude sucked before he signed with Jets, sucked with the Jets and Joe wants to bring him back? I really hope they are looking at the cheapest deal possible with Perriman. Joe better not be trying to make up for letting Anderson walk.
We paid 6mill for him last year no? I reckon that we'll take him back at 4-5mill and be a WR 4/5. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Not a terrible move, we can't replace the entire WR corps with studs. This team needs elite talent AND depth, not just one or the other. Perriman is a solid deep threat when he has a QB that can get him the ball, i.e. not Sam Darnold.
I feel like he was a decent receiver when he was healthy. The problem was Darnold was throwing it somewhere else, either that or he had the dropsies. I think his story was he and Darnold weren’t on the same page though. Maybe I’m remembering wrong. If he’s cheap, keep him.
That's what everyone said about him last year replacing Robbie. Never saw a solid deep threat. Darnold was able to get the ball deep to Anderson. Like most said if he is cheap yeah bring him back give the new coaching staff a shot at trying to bring his talent out.
Why would he double down on Perriman? He was an awful signing last year, just move on (unless super cheap).
For a #1 receiver he was awful. Though actually looked decent with Flacco. As a #4 guy for perhaps even less than last year - why not?
