This is a Trade Rumor from draft day, and since then the Jets have drafted 1 RB and picked up another undersized RB (undrafted Free agent) I dont know if theyre still in the market.
But if they were looking for a veteran Back, they still havent filled that need.
Apparently they were interested in J. Jones. Check it out:

Personally I would love to see us pick up a Big back.
I loved the way Jordan complimented Martin, it was a nice switch up.
I just hope Mangini isnt worried about getting martin his yards (like edwards was so concerned with) and allows either Houston or another back to hit the 500 yard mark.

He has 2 yrs experience which pretty much makes him a vet...

I don't think he's really a Vet but he has a chance to be one of the best backs in the league. I would have loved to have Jones as a Jet. Why the hell would Dallas want to part ways with him?

Julius Jones does not suck, but he seems to be vastly overrated by some on this board.

I don't know that Julius Jones is a long term solution at RB, but he might be an upgrade over Curtis Martin at this point.

Isn't Curtis Martin like the quintessential "veteran back" I mean who is more veteran than him?

probably because they like barber about as much, and that article implies they were asking for a pick, probably either 29 or 35 which is an awful lot for julius Jones

Tatum Bell was on the block a little while ago...Id rather have him. Dudes a burner with a 5.3 yard career average that can hit the hole with authority. Id trade one of our 2nd rounders next year for him
