I dont see us doing anything this year. Unless Patrick falls to the 6th or 7th. MAYBE 5th.

Id give up a 3rd for patrick, he intrigues me. Oliver even though he is a 1st round talent, I just cant see us giving up a 2nd for this kid. Overall Id give a 3rd for Oliver or Patrick but I dont expect Oliver to last that long

Someone will give up a 2nd no question for Oliver, he's a top 15 talent, and there are a number of teams that need him and have a number of early picks available (NE and Dallas namely).

If this guy can step in and play guard, he's worth a third or fourth.

I have no clue on how the supplemental draft works? How many we get how'd we get them ect. Does that make me a bad football guy?

Not really a lot of people have no clue about the supplemental draft and say things like well if he couldnt get taken in the NFL Draft why would anyone take him in the supplemental draft

I see. This goes hand in hand with what I like to call Retarded millionares , You see all these rich ass-holes getting arrested and getting in trouble. these guys have so much money that these things should never happen! Go buy a hooker for all your troubles. and stay out of the lime light . I know I would follow the curtis martin example . put it all away for a rainy day! Plus being acedemiclly poor isnt a true test of a players true skills. Thanks for the Info.

  10. If the price was right I'd like to see us put a bid on Patrick for say a 5th rounder. That said, we shouldnt do it unless the scouting dept. feels he's worthy of it. Many times, guys get overrated just b/c they're a part of the supplemental draft and there's not many others to compare them to.

However, he sounds like he'd be a good fit in our scheme and would add to the competition that will surely be arising at LG.

Supplemental draft players never really make out very well. Usually there is a reason why they are in the supplemental draft.

Trade Kendall and use the pick we get for him to get Patrick.

As for Oliver, i can see the pats go for him, they don?t seem to care about Caracter anymore, and with their 2 1st rounders and the Asante Situation, they maybe even give up a 1st.

i would be totally shocked if the pats ever gave up a first in the supplemental for a guy that obviously isn't the brightest bulb on the tree. if i've learned anything over the past few years, it's that the pat's are run much smarter than that...

i could see the jets using a possible 5th on patrick. player's usually go a round or two lower than what they would have done in the draft. i doubt the jet's do it. there will be some servicable oline cut's from training camp that the jet's will certainly be watching for...

as far as kendall, we'd be lucky to get a sixth for him. second team he has turncoated, is not worthy of a very high pick.

the pats did a lot of things, that shocked people this offseason. And if Asante doesn?t stop bitching, and it?s really Bellys last year, they probably jump on a talent like oliver. And if they don?t think they can get him with a 2nd rounder, they maybe give a 1st.

That?s a lot of "ifs" but imo it?s possible

These guys may not even be available to us in the Supplimental and I do not want to give up any significant picks to acquire somebody; especially after the picks we used to get what we have out of this year's draft or even Jones for that matter. I am not complaining about the picks, but it is a gamble. Darelle Revis and Davis Harris must come in and make a significant contribution and then grow in the following years. Jacob Bender - we will see. Chansi Stuckey - could be appropriately named, but we may catch a winner here.

The only supplimental draft the Jets will utilize this year is the one created from the consumed baked beans at the 4th of July picnic.

just curious why these two dudes who weren't "eligible for the main draft" didn't simply go to the team they really want to play for, "walk on", sign the big rookie contract, and live happily ever after. Why chance the "supplemental draft" and end up playing in Cleavland for christ sake when you could simply walk into the Jet's practice buble and suit up. Maybe even go to dinner with the Penguin and the misses.

playing for the browns might not be so bad in the near future.....

i think (dont know for sure) that unless you were eligible for the draft and didnt get picked you cant just go to the team you want.....if that were the case there would be no use for a draft as anyone could just go anywhere....theres got to be a method to the madness....

I personally wouldn't give up much for Patrick. IMO, he is a long term project at guard and is an inflated 300lbs, he was playing LT below 290lbs last year. He is not the answer at LG for this year that some people are making him out to be. Watching the Nicholls State/Nebraska game (okay after 28-0, I only kind of watched  ), Jacob Bender looked like the better prospect if I remember correctly....
