I was listening to the fan this morning and apparently joe b was on after the jets loss. They played a clip from his rant, apparently there has not been a single penalty given to the opposition for roughing the passer againts the Jets. How is this possible??!! Jets QBs this year have been mauled and we have not gotten a single call, this is just unreal. I am not putting my tin foil hat on but holy fuck...!!
There have definitely been a few. I don’t remember the offhand but I’m sure some people will. I remember one game there was literally the same type of play against us minutes before or after one was called against our D.
This is actually a good tendency. The sooner RTP flags die out, the better. Yes, it'd be great if they died out evenly. But seeing at least 'some refs' keeping the flag in their waistbands is a good thing, even if we didn't get the call. RTP calls have been some of the most contentions calls this season, with Refs getting killed over them. Hopefully, refs will just stop throwing them, ESPECIALLY in those ticky-tack calls. It just won't be worth the grief they get over it (death threats, etc).
Even if there were a couple RTP called in favor of the Jets they were very few and certainly did not cover all the times Jets QBs were mauled. Not to mention other non-calls like PIs and PFs that are frequently called against the Jets and somehow not for the Jets. This has been going on for years. It's hard to believe there isn't some sort of league sponsored pattern involved. Woody ought to "meddle" more with the NFL offices and less with the football operations of the Jets.
The "woe is us" way of thinking is tiresome at best and indicative of excuse making and a loser attitude. The Jets record is 7 - 9 regardless. The opportunity has been there every week for anyone believing the Jets have been "mauled" at will to show the evidence - we haven't seen any. Even understanding such calls are subjective judgement calls and opinions will vary we've seen no such film.
