According to the NY POST Mr. T has Wayne Hunter starting RT next season. I think im going to be sick.
From Long Time Jets fan in the Ducasse thread on what Mike T has said to the press in the past: Quote: Originally Posted by jets2884 Rich Cimini @RichCimini Mike Tannenbaum, on WFAN, says Wayne Hunter is starting RT. I expect him to compete with Kellen [Clemens]. On Kerry Rhodes right before they traded him: Quote: We expect him to be back, (and) unless something changes he will be back. On Leon Washington right before they traded him: Quote: Our plan right now is we will tender Leon, and we expect him to be back. On Thomas Jones before they cut him: Quote: We expect (Thomas) to be back. There are some economic issues that obviously have to be looked at over the next month, but we hope that he’s back. He’s done a lot for our team, both on and off the field. On offensive coordinator Brain Schottenheimer right before they “parted ways”: Quote: We do expect Brian Schottenheimer back. He’s under contract to be the offensive coordinator. I wouldn't worry about it just yet.
Nice. We need a running tally of those. Yeah I don't know when people are going to stop falling for this. Nothing Mike T. ever says means a goddamn thing.
The NY Post once said Luis Hernandez would be the Mets starting second baseman last season. We haven't even had training camp yet. Calm down. -X-
So this means Sanchez is gone too. He said the same exact thing for Sanchez in regards to getting Manning. There is no way they can move forward with Hunter starting. He would be nice depth though. what about TURNER?
Here is one of those indisputable cases where it is a good thing that someone is a liar. God forbid Tanny was telling the truth.
Before we give up on Hunter remember that he did a good job down the stretch and in postseason in 2010 and they signed him to start last year so they felt comfortable w/ him then. Maybe he can improve? I don't know, I'd feel more comfortable w/ him as a backup but the team had confidence in him a year ago so one bad year shouldn't change that, right?
I have a problem with somebody who commits a multitude of penalties in one game and continues to smile about it when the camera comes in for a close-up. I want my players breaking stuff on the sidelines, ala Paul O'Neil in the Yankees dugout.
I don't recall that, Hunter is the one who went after holmes in Miami. I'm not saying I want him to start just trying to see the Jets side of things other than the obvious public comments by Tannenbaum.
This doesn't worry me at all because I'm pretty sure that Tanny could be outright gawking at Peyton Manning and he wouldn't get so much as a coy glance in return. Having Hunter back at RT will be an outright disaster unless the Jets go heavy Ground and Pound. If they do that then the Jets might survive it and Sanchez might even also.
I know what you're talking about but I think the mouth guard makes it appear as if he's smiling when he's not. At least that's what I want to believe.
I remember this game distinctively, he was most certainly smiling and I hurled my remote across the room. True Story.
