https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/...0200413-lgu3xbdsyjfdlirgpmwo324eku-story.html Jets favored in just one game in 2020, according to oddsmaker The AFC East might be up for grabs now with Tom Brady gone, but one oddsmaker doesn’t necessarily believe that will help the Jets win the division. Sportsbook FoxBet.com has Gang Green favored in just one game in 2020. Rosters, of course, will be bolstered by the upcoming NFL draft. The league is expected to release the full 2020 schedule in a few weeks, but FOX Bet has Adam Gase’s team as the favorite in no game other than their home contest against the Dolphins. The Jets are at least one-touchdown underdogs in seven games. The Jets, along with the rest of the AFC East, have a more daunting schedule on paper than last season, when they faced the anemic NFC East. The Jets, Bills, Patriots and Dolphins will square off against the NFC and AFC West this season. Here’s a game-by-game breakdown of the point spreads for the Jets: HOME +3 vs. Bills -4 vs. Dolphins +4.5 vs. Patriots +1.5 vs. Broncos +1 vs. Raiders +1 vs. Cardinals +8.5 vs. 49ers +1.5 vs. Browns ROAD +9 at Seahawks +6.5 at Bills +7 at Colts +5 at Chargers +1 at Dolphins +8.5 at Patriots +7 at Rams +14.5 at Chiefs
If this holds true, Jets looking at top pick in 2021 draft. But if there's no 2020 college ball, this would kinda suck.
I see this only has 16 games. Who is our 17th game against and how is the 17th game opponent determined?
well, yes and no. The spread (at this moment in time) is an early measure of the two combatants. Giving KC a 2 TD spread at home against the Jets seems real.
It isn't yes and no. They mean absolutely nothing. It is April 13th. Who the hell knows in week 12 when we are @ KC what either roster will look like? What QB will be hurt by week 6? What team is like the SF of this past season? This is an asinine article.
I mean you can’t really disagree with the notion. We’ll obviously win more than one game, probably 4-6 wins, but we are still one of the worst teams in the league on paper so when analyzing the season on paper given our schedule and roster and coach, you probably end up with one win. I also don’t care. We’re moving in the right direction for the most part. It’s not about 2021.
Yeah, maybe a Joe Schmo gambler like you or me. The amount of professional betters that are betting on these games right now can be counted with one or two hands. Vegas limits you on the maximum amount you can bet the further you are away from the game because the line isn't as sharp as if you are a week out or even two days out. Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure you cannot place over five figures on one single game until it is one or two out because the closer you get the sharper the line gets.
By the time September comes, and if we have an NFL season to play, the current projections will be absolutely meaningless and overcome by events. The top teams of last year will still have the edge going into week one but it’s a free for all odd wise depending on a slew of variables. Draft, free agents, new trades, injuries, suspensions and the like. Having said that, I like for the Jets to be underdogs every week, so there is that. I think we will see a far more competitive endeavor. To me the team the Jets will field in 2020 will be a far cry from the one that we had in 2019, so it could be a vast improvement or a shocking disappointment depending on how quick they jell. The Starters On offense will be 50% different than last year, with as many as 3-4 New OL, most likely 2 new starting WR, and a new rotational RB. The D will have possibly 2 new starting corners, two returning starting ILB, and may be a new situational pass rusher. Special teams right now is a big mystery but probably a new kicker and may be even a new punter. So who the hell knows. Our make over much like Miami will be very significant. NE will be without the star QB first time in over 15 years, and the Bills are supposedly fine tuning and on the rise. This division is in major transition, and there will be plenty of dog fights to go around. Things are in state of flux. We need to seize the moment.
I agree with LAjet and other....ANY discussion about the upcoming season is completely meaningless until all 32 teams have set their final roster. TGG, PFT, and all football TV and websites should shut down until September.
That +8.5 v 9ers looks juicy too. I’d want to see where it falls in the schedule but giving 8.5 and traveling East? Gimme the points
