well, it been awhile since ive posted here, being a bills fan and all...i just want to say, i dont think you guys played as bad as it seems....i just think you guys had the wrong game plan.... rookie trent edwards is going to surprise a lot of people this year...i for one have been rooting for him all offseason to start...i think he is 10X's the qb that lostman is...unlike jp, trent shows no fear out there on the field...he is all business...the jets main goal today was stopping lynch, who is a beast, but was kept at bay most of the day...props for your D stepping up in that reguard, i thought he would have a big day today...but in turn, you guys left yourself wide open to take a reaming from edwards..this kid is a gamer, and you could see that today with his pocket poise and decision making...he always seems to find the open guy... "He threw the ball more than we expected," defensive end Shaun Ellis said. "We knew he was a talented quarterback. We didn't think he'd do this to us. But he did." http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7272360 i think that statement pretty much sums it up... Let me just say...i hate pennington, and i feel for some of you fans who are calling for his head...he has no ablility to stretch the field...dink and dunk all day, i for one cant stand it, and i knew soon or later the pick would come...didnt think it would be twice though...all in all it was a hard fought game by both teams, with buffalo coming away with 2 more injuries by the way....safety and cornerback...the severity is uncertain for our safety but we'll see...i dont expect much from this year, especially with 12 injuries already and another 2 today.... anyway i look forward to our next meeting at the meadowlands...
edwards did look good, nothing amazing tools wise, and he didnt have to face a pass rush, but he looked like a veteran (he was under control, didnt force too many bad throws)
Of course he shows no fear on the field. He spent his entire college career getting the crap kicked out of him because his offensive line couldn't give him more than 2 seconds of protection. If he even gets 3 in this league, he'll play well. If he's given unlimited time and soft coverage by the corners, he'll have games like today.
I remember u from last year. u always been a class act. Also I was at the game today and yes Trent Edwards looked great. He has a solid arm and seem to always make a good decision which is the biggest difference compared to J.P. He threw a few passes with guys cutting across the field that looked really good, gave time for the wr to catch and run for a few more yards. As of my Jets yes you are right. I love Chad but Chad can not open the field up. Therefore defenses just need to put all there guys on the box and anticipated moving forward for a 5 yard dink or a short gain run. The one person that is gettng hurt most by this is Thomas Jones. He is an outstanding rb but unfortunately has to put up with this. I think our gameplan to stop the run was not bad. Take our chances with the rookie. Lastly good luck to you guys and I hope Trent Edwards play next week and does the same against the Cowboys. Enjoy ure MNF. As for us hopefully Clemens gets another chance soon.
Look I appreciate the post and you might be right in Trent Edwards being a good quarterback, but I gotta say after todays performance with that defense ANY QB could have looked good out there. There was no pass rush the entire game except for maybe two plays. He had all day out there to throw. As far as Pennington goes I will support him until the bitter end. Look, we all know what Chad's limits are and we have beat the topic to death. The fact is Chad is a capable quarterback but we need help on the offensive line (and the defense but that's another story). The team needs to get better running the football because right now it's looking awful.
