What the hell? Cheering Pennington's injury? That's just disgraceful. Even though i'm a Pats fan, i think he's a good guy and i think he should be commended for trying to fight through that injury. I sure as hell didn't cheer Drew Bedsoe getting injured by Mo Lewis even though he was a horrible QB for us. I don't think even Vick, as disgusting a human being that he is, deserves that kind of treatment... i dunno, my stomache just turned when those jets fans cheered.
Sorry for picking on you specifically, but all of you don't need to make new threads, just post in existing ones Also Im pretty sure some were cheering for him getting up
Trying to rationalize the Jets fans cheering I'm hoping, and I mean really hoping, that the fans weren't cheering that Chad got hurt. You could want him benched in favor of Clemens, but cheering that his ankle got mangled? I'm having a hard accepting the fans would stoop so low. My main theory is that they were cheering for Chad trying to get off the field on his own without wasting an injury timeout. Maybe I'm just trying to lie to myself, but I don't believe the fans there could be so horrible. So what do you guys think? The cheering was: (a) misunderstood. (b) a prime example of how horrible people can be.
Chad's welcome is about worn out in NY. Is he a decent QB? Yes. Is he capable of leading the Jets to the Super Bowl? No. A lot of season ticket holders have been waiting for a long time to get to the Super Bowl. I understand the cheer.
My Reason: I wanted to show a kid QB coming onto the field my support. I wanted him to do well and help my team win.
The fans in New York suck. This has been mentioned many times over the last year. Today was the worst I have ever seen. Horrible.
Albeit brief, KC and the Oline could event do shit against 2nd stringers... Unless the Pats are just that good, this is going to be a long year,
I'd really like to believe they were cheering Chad getting up, but I'd bet they were cheering Chad getting out.
You know, Chad played great. But I too want to see what our receivers can do when the pass gets there just that much faster. Even though teams know Chad's weaknesses, he can still move the team down the field. Cheering because he is hurt is just wrong. The guy has given all he can to win.
I posted this in the Game Thread. I can't vouch for the thousands upon thousands of people at Giants Stadium, but I believe they were cheering when Clemens came in, meaning they were pleased Chad was hurt and exiting the game for that moment. I don't want to hear how people were supporting Clemens. If I'm not mistaken, it was 4th down and, I want to say, 20 yards back. What did you expect him to do? I think they were cheering that Chad was hurt and leaving.
Pennington was kicking ass in the game too. It was not like he was doing things wrong. That is why it was so pathetic. Then he came back and threw another TD. Luckily for us, Clemens looked great. NOT.
Understand the cheer? have some class, the guy is crawling off the field. if your father or child was in that situation would you "understand" the cheer
