This year aggressiveness is wat should be our motto , the team was aggressive in their efforts for landing Favre and eventually we got him. Not that this team is getting old but the window to winning championships is very short so i feel that we should be as aggressive as we can into landing as many big time prospects as we can.

    1. Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia (JR.)
I usually don’t like picking offensive skill positions in the 1st round unless they are a cant miss prospect or something like that. But it seems like we have been looking for a RB for awhile ever since Curtis left. Our needs aren’t weren’t they were a year ago and although we do need other things I think we should choose the best player available in Moreno. Now Moreno has pretty much carried Georgia’s offense this year. And he will possibly have to do the same with Favre-less Jet team in 09.

***TRADE –New Orleans 2nd Rounder and 2010 2nd Rounder for a 1st Rounder***

    1. James Laurinaitis ILB Ohio State

Barton most likely will be gone after this season. The main criticism that I hear from guys is that Laurinaitis gets “manhandled” on blocks sometimes. Well wen u have guys that 50 plus pounds more than its understandable. In the meantime Maualuga fits the 3-4 pretty well, aggressive but his weakness is that he cant really cover. Laurinaitis meanwhile is great in coverage and very fast in his reads, something that Maualuga is very weak at. We already have an ILB who is weak in coverage so we should add one who is better.

    2. Vince Oghobaase DE Duke (JR.)
More help needs to be given to our lb’s to get off blocks that should be provided a by another DE not Coleman he’s alright but he should be a backup in this league. Vince stands at 6’6 310 and would be our version of Seymour in the 3-4 and would provide immediate help for Jenkins in the run.

***TRADE -2 of our 4ths NYJs and Washingtons for a 3rd Rounder***
    3. Derek Pegues S Miss State

David Barrett has surprisingly played pretty at FS in the San Diego game getting a pick but we need a true free safety .Barrett is just learning the position and I think we all rather have a “vet” at the position instead. Derek is a hybrid player in a sense too, being able to play corner safety and special teams as a returner.

    5. Greg Carr WR Florida State
I know a lot of u guys wanted James Hardy last year I didn’t I thought he was overrated anyway I still do think we need a taller target. Clowney and Stuckey have impressed me a lot, Clowney will definitely be our speed guy in the future remember he has 4.33 speed. And Stuckey I mean he just catches td passes so I cant complain something that Brad Smith was never able to do for us., I think we have #3 in Stuckey and a #4 in Clowney. Coles I mean I like him but he’s not part of our future we need to bring another guy here to be a possible #1, #2 option. Greg Carr has had nothing but garbage around him at QB but did have a 9 td year as a freshman and a 12 td year as a sophomore, so he’s no stranger into getting into the end zone exactly what we need. We need some more weapons to help the future QB (Ratty).

    5. Josh Pinkard CB/S USC (via GB)
Talented safety who has had injuries but is healthy again and playing as a corner and spot safety in USC’s defense.

    6. Chris Miller Ball State

Ben Graham sux,… yeah that was easy

    7. IDK Nobody Does

I still Like Terrence Cody from Bama better then Raji in the NT role and could see both of them gone before the 3rd round this year.

Not a bad over all draft. A few points.

We are losing a pick for Favre. Hopefully some where between a third and a first.

I doubt if we retain our first, its anywhere near the level of Knowshon Moreno or James Laurinaitis unless we lose a lot more games then we expect. Favre is goign to have to get hurt and we need to finish 3-13 or 4-12 for this type of thing to come together.

    Its nice to dream though.

That'd be pretty good...though I think if Ogopogo comes out he's a first round pick.

I also don't like JL. I'd rather have Brinkley, Spikes, McKillop, Appleby...theres some good ILB prospects here. I think all those guys are more phsyical than JL, and theres a few I didn't even mention.

I'd like to see Knowshon Moreno, Rey Maulega, or Taylor Mays, in that order. I have a suspicion that this year's first round will be one of the best ever due to college players fearing a rookie salary cap and coming out early. Hopefully the Jets won't screw it up and trade away the first round pick to get a "mangini guy" who "knows the system". Like Bruschi or some other has been.

I'd rather have Mauluga than Laurinaitis. Maulaluga's playing weight is more than Harris' so that would allow us to move Harris back to the WILB - dropping about 20 lbs. in the process - and let him play in space at a lighter weight, improving his ability to play the pass and rush the passer with Maualuga taking on guards and letting Harris play in space where he was simply terrifying last year.

I think it would be better to have a linebacker who can actually cover, our run defense is already great so i it would be better to have a lb who can play the nickel well which we dont have right now, we dont need another big slower linebacker we have plenty of those.
By the way if Harris loses 20 lbs he'd b like 220 i dont think thats happening.

I'm not sure of Rey Rey or Mays at all. I need to watch more USC, but I've been more impressed by Cushing, Griffen, Ellison, Matthews, and Moore.

I think Griffen is a sophmore and I don't think Cushing could beat out anyone on the Jets for the starting job. He has enough size and speed to have played at least 3 positions well for the Trojans, but I don't think he's good enough at any one thing to be a star at the NFL level. The easiest thing to like about Rey is that he plays big in big games.

Yea, Griffen's a sophomore. He's nasty, keep an eye onhim.

Cushing's got size, can hit, and has been all over the field when I've watched USC. I didn't like him, but I could see him playing well inside in a 3-4. In fact, I think he'd be better inside.

We'll have to see Rey in a big game this year. I haven't been impressed by him this year.

    *ahem*

The Jets dream draft doesn't include a first round pick.

If Cushing can play inside i would luv to have him over laurenitis and maulauga, we need a faster linebacker in the rotation.

Moreno's a lock IMO. Caleb King is another sick talent at RB, and he's already a legend at a major SEC program.
