What do you think the Jets top-10 draft board is right now? Nobody knows but after reading all these rumors it would be fun to guess. This is how I think it goes:

    1. Reggie Bush
    2. Mario Williams
    3. D'Brickashaw Ferguson
    4. AJ Hawk
    5. Vernon Davis
    6. Jay Cutler
    7. Matt Leinart
    8. Haloti Ngata
    9. Vince Young
    10. Michael Huff

Those are the only guys I see them CONSIDERING with our first rounder, whether they trade up, down, or stay put, and maybe Winston Justice too. I think they will end up taking Brick because Bush and Mario are gone and he or Hawk is the safest pick that won't blow up in their faces, and OT is a bigger need than OLB. If those three our gone, I think they will take Hawk, and for the rest of the guys they would only trade down to get. Even though I have Leinart ranked very low, I still think there's a good chance they might take him even if they don't like him as much as the other guys, because if we passed on Leinart people would be killing them and all you would hear is boos at the draft. A new regime doesn't want that, so even if they don't love Leinart as much as Cutler he's the popular pick so they still might take him. From everything I've read and heard, they like Cutler better, and would trade down for only him or Davis. Young and Huff they would only take is if all the other guys above were gone. That's just my guess, I could be completely off. Thoughts?

That list to me is right on the button, from top to bottom.
Leinert is not #2 on their list.

Ugh! That would be AWFUL! I mean, Matt Leinart would probably ask fans to wear Airplane hats! What a disgrace!

I think that's very close, but I see Tangini's board more like this:
    1. Reggie Bush
    2. Mario Williams
    3. D'Brickashaw Ferguson
    4. AJ Hawk
    5. Vernon Davis
    6a. Jay Cutler
    6b. Haloti Ngata
    8. Matt Leinart
    9. Winston Justice
    10a. Michael Huff
    10b. Jimmy Williams

    1- Reggie Bush
    2- Matt Leinart
    3- Mario Williams
    4a- Vernon Davis
    4b- AJ Hawk

I think people are putting too much personal bias in the rankings. People want an elite LT so bad, but we would never pony up #4 money for an olineman, not to mention this lineman has major holes in his game that need to be addressed ASAP

What "major" holes does Ferguson have in his game? Other than he is just an average to above average Run Blocker? This guy is so good at pass protection he is certainly worth #4...

His pass protection is not in question...certainly he has been flat out dominant in terms of PB. But to merit the #4 pick he has to combine that with dominant run blocking. And believe me, I am not saying improvement is noy possible. But at this stage its simply not worth investing #4 money in a one-dimensional tackle

Pace had similar problems with his run blocking. And also Ogden to a certain degree. So I don't think it is true that a LT has be dominant in pass and run blocking. Especially since scouting reports also say he has yet to grow into his frame and can add 15-20lbs. Add that to being taught better run blocking techniques in the NFL, I think he will improve in this area greatly. Just as Pace did. NO prospect will be perfect in all aspects in the game. There is a reason Brick was rated in the top 4 the past 2 years.

Amazing isn't it...... Ferguson is WAY too much $$$ at that spot when Justice is a better fit - CHEAPER and might come with another 1st round pick....

To me it's a No Brainer.....

the first seven are right on the button, I think. I think if they lose out on those guys, they'll just trade down further - into the Mangold, DeAngelo area.

    11)Jay Cutler

    32)Joseph Addai

i went with 32 since that's the 1st round, but by no means is that a list of who they really like per se, its more of their talent list, because if they were sitting at a spot where one of the higher guys fell, they'd probably try to trade down from there and target one of the players who fits their system better (ie: not taking young, sims, etc)...obviously the list isn't completely talent, more a talent/production list with a bit of offseason (combine/pro day/workouts) thrown in...guess im just getting at that some guys will be on their list like Young or Sims, but they are on their because of their talent and ability and they need to be ranked, but there is a high probability that the organization wont draft them

Its hard to say what they are really thinking because I think they are trying to have us all mixed up as they should. Heres what i think we are looking at.
    1. Reggie Bush
    2. Mario Williams
    3. Matt Leinart
    4. D'Brickashaw Ferguson
    5. Vernon Davis<- i think i may be ranking him higher then what they think but with all the Vernon Davis craze i figured id put him there.
    6. AJ Hawk
    7. Jay Cutler
    8. Haloti Ngata
    9. Michael Huff
    10. Vince Young
I always say look at Kipers 1st darft and then look at his latest one and mesh them together when you get near the draft, i think we tend to over think things after the combine and just after looking at these players for so long.

NO WAY they like Wiston more than Justice, (haha, Winston Justice) they'd have to be crazy.

stop looking at quotes and the media, eric winston was a better tackle than winston justice before his injury, and was better after his injury (yes even though he wasn't back to his top 5 talent level last season, he still played better than winston justice did last season)..justice is more raw also, has some major red flags, eric can still add weight, HAS played both tackle positions, also had a good offseason, and considering his injury takes about two years to get back to full strength, the chance that he regains his top 5 form is likely..

winston justice is a product of the media and USC's pro-day recruiting party

The Jets are picking Vernon Davis. He is at the top with Mario Williams. Bush is #1 followed by Mario/V Davis.
