Yeah, news is slow this time of year. http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thedailydolphin/2010/06/23/dolphins-jets-to-be-first-ever-game-aired-on-telemundo/ Dolphins-Jets to be first-ever game aired on Telemundo by Ben Volin The Dolphins’ Sept. 26 Sunday Night Football matchup against the Jets will be memorable, and not just because Jason Taylor returns to Sun Life Stadium as a member of Miami’s arch-rival. The all-Spanish television channel Telemundo, owned by NBC Universal, will air the football game and provide its own play-by-play crew in three key Latino markets — Miami, New York and Los Angeles, according to MediaPost.com. The broadcast is a part of Hispanic Heritage Month and will be the first time Telemundo, the second-largest Spanish-language content producer in the world, provides its own coverage of a football game. Telemundo will use NBC’s feed of the game, but Jessi Losada, Rene Girardo and Edgar Lopez will call the game. “We are committed to delivering NFL content to our Hispanic fans and have an extensive reach in both English and Spanish through multiple platforms such as TV, radio, online and in print,” commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. The NFL has targeted the Hispanic market for several years — the 49ers and Cardinals played a 2005 game in Mexico City, and the NFL teamed up with TV channel Univision to create NFLatino.com. It has led to a popularity boom for Hispanic fans, with the league seeing an increase of 1.1 million Hispanic television viewers from last year, according to MediaPost, a 31 percent increase. And choosing the Dolphins-Jets game makes a ton of sense for the NFL, as well. Both teams, obviously, are located in large Hispanic markets, while Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and Dolphins receiver Greg Camarillo are both of Mexican heritage. The Dolphins also have a minority owner in entertainers Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Gloria Estefan, and when the Dolphins renewed their radio licensing partners for 2010, one of the criteria was the radio station had to have a Spanish-language affiliate to also broadcast the games.
Jessi Losada is a great broadcaster. A little spastic at times, but definitely knows what hes talking about. Rene Girardo? Seriously wtf were they thinking. I cant stand him. He sounds lost when it comes to play by play and just spews out fluff whenever possible. If it werent for Edgar Lopez this would be a lost crew from the beginning. At least they did something right.
gooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!
TOUCHDOWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!! Is what I think you meant
just like last year right in the hispanic monday night game?! lol I think it's a cool honor for a rivalry such as this to get a little extra attention.
I think Gruden is awesome as broadcaster. he was an annoying shmuck as a HC but the guy DEFINITELY knows his x's and o's inside out. and seriously Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworski and Joe Theismann are there and Gruden is the first guy you go to?
