    Right behind Baltimore.

    22nd Pass against the pass.

We are 20th Overall defensively (statistically).

Moral of the story is that I think this defense has yet to reach it's potential. It's amazing how adding one huge body (Jenkins) can have such a dramatic effect of our run defense.

How does 2nd and 22nd equate to 20th overall?

They have given up a lot more pass yards than rush yards. I can't explain it better now. Too tired.

But, it happens. It's based on yardage allowed.
Last year Minnesota was 1st in rush defense and 32nd against the pass. Their defense was 20th overall.

Tampa Bay was 17th against the rush and 1st against the pass in 2007. Their defense was 2nd overall.

yea, it's a very skewed statistic because a team will usually give up more passing yards than rushing yards in total.

Yep. I mean why run on a team when you can simply pass on a team more often and attempt more throws as compared to rushes? Or vice versa.

Thats pretty much how it goes. If a team is vulnerable to the run, then the opposition will explore the weakness and rush the ball and throw less which will skew the stats so to speak. Thats why I think Oakland has had great pass D numbers the past few years(I Believe), its because that run D has been spotty and teams just dont take the chance at throwing to their CBs.

The pass yardage took a hit from Warners 472yrd day, as well as the Chargers beating.

Every other game has been fine.

The team is better than 20th overall, but not top 10.. yet. I think they can get there as long as they get better.

Teams pass more against us than they run.

But its misleading, Arizona was behind and had to pass, Tomlinson was hurt and ineffective, Miami was also behind in the game.

All teams get more passing than running. This isn't just us.

Overall D will correlate much more closely to your Passing D than your Running D for what I thought were obvious reasons.

It seems like Drew Coleman gives up about 10 first downs on 3rd downs every game, he's horrible!

I remember talking about this before the season started. Nobody had to throw against us last season. If nobody throws against you, you're pass defense will look way better. Now that we're stuffing the run, we're getting a better look at how good our pass defense actually is. It's not great, but it's good enough right now to get us wins. Anyone notice that were at the top of the league in sacks as well? Stuff the run, get more 3rd and longs. More passing situations means more opportunities to hit the QB...and that's just what they're doing. Jenkins is doing exactly what we'd all hoped for after he was brought in. Actually exceeding expectations in my opinion.

Abyz has been railing against this guy all season--and he is right.

It seemed that there was a span of 4 or 5 catches that saw number 30 about 2 yards off the guy after having been beat on a move.

Can't see why he even gets as many reps as he does. We're pretty deep in the secondary.

If you want to play 7 DB's and one is #30, better to go with 6 DB's and a LB.

I think he should be the next recipient of a dead animal in his locker. I think bow season opens soon - maybe Favre can bag a buck.
