Jets could be 5-4 right now

    If Nick Folk doesn't miss a chip shot field goal and extra point we beat the Bengals.

    If the Jets Kick Coverage Unit does their job and doesn't give up a touchdown the Jets most likely win that game.

    Jets could be sitting at 5-4 right now and only a game back for the last spot in the AFC Wild Card.

    Jets lost two very winnable games vs the Bengals and Dolphins to start each half of the season. To quote Denny Green, "We let 'em off the hook."

    1st Half record 3-5
    Wins: Bills, Ravens, and Browns.
    Losses: Bengals, Chiefs, Seahawks, Steelers, Cardinals.

    2nd Half record 0-1
    Wins:
    Losses: Dolphins

    Remaining Schedule
    Home Games: Rams, Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, Bills.

    Road Games: 49ers, Patriots

    If the Jets can win their remaining home games and split on the road, they can finish the season 9-7 with a 7-5 conference record.

    I know the Jets need a miraculous midseason turnaround for the above to transpire.

    Tell me what would have to go right for a 9-7 finish, and us making the 6th seed in the playoffs.

    I'll go first. Bryce Petty would have to become the starter and the Jets would have to start winning inside the 20's on both sides of the ball.

    Every starting QB we face would have to get injured.

    Then their backup would have to get injured.

    Special Teams would have to win us a couple games we'd lose minus their big plays, and not cost us anymore wins.

    Well it depends. If your uncle is the one related to your mom he would have never married your aunt. So if that Aunt had balls she wouldn't be your uncle.

    Then our opponents team bus or airplane would have to malfunction, no one gets killed just injured, but they would have to play their back ups and practice squad players, maybe even forfeit some of the games, due to not having enough players, as well.

    win: Colts

    4-12 final record. Bowles fired, Jets draft a defensive lineman or a corner in the top 5 because the new D coordinator they hire thinks its good for his "system"
