I like the idea that he's already working the wire. We had a spot on the roster after cutting Sterling. Williams may have influenced this pick seeing he played for him last year.
Great, another defense-first GM. Guy has been here for over 24 hours and made no attempt to address the OL.
Good move he was on the Browns practice squad most of last years. Knows Williams system. He could be camp fodder or a guy who Williams likes, who can play special teams and develop. Nice size/speed combination.
Agreed.Have a good feeling about he & Perry Nickerson.Unfortunately i have a bad feeling Trumaine Johnson is toast so its likely a wash
Ugh, Johnson took the money and totally checked out last year. He'll never be worth the amount he was paid, but he needs to nut up and at least prove he's a quality starter again. I'm hoping the reunion with Gregg Williams will spark his game. Nickerson I was really excited about post draft, but he really struggled in limited action last year. Hoping that was just inexperience, but who knows. Guess there are still lots of question marks at Corner. I'd like to sign Mo Claiborne just in case.
You are most likely correct, but there's reason to think he'll have a good year. First, last season he was battling a quad injury, which limited his 'burst', and led to him trailing several WRs. He was also changing cities, friends, teams, players, coaching, schemes, etc. Never easy. Last, he WAS handed huge jack, which no doubt acted as a distraction to his trade. His personal life changed completely. His phone was probably ringing off the hook from 'friends and family' looking for a handout. This season he SHOULD be more comfortable here, he SHOULD buy in to Williams' aggressive schemes, and he SHOULD play much better (if healthy, of course).
