I would be happy winning some games, especially some divisonal games and see us playing competitively until the end of the season, instead of the usual finding other things to do on Sundays starting in early October. Would be a huge improvement over the last few horrible seasons.
I'm not sayin' a SB but I think the Jets could surprise a lot of people if a few things fall into place. 1. Zach Wilson has to show something of why they drafted him 2nd overall. 2. The coaching staff has to get roster to play up to capabilities which is considerable. I feel the roster is more talented than either NE or Miami right now. 3. Josh Allen has to go on IR. Not that I'm wishing he does, but this is football and injuries do happen. If he did get hurt and the first two above came together, this team could win the division, and from there, who knows.....
Vegas has done a tremendous job promoting “value bets” and lotto lays and shaming chalk bets to get the public just hand their money over.
I mean I like the Jets but even us Jets fans have to be realistic. Under no circumstances do I see us winning the division, let alone the super bowl. Do these people really have nothing better to do with their money that they’re just going to give it away? Where do I sign up for a cut??
"A young team with a ton of talent led by a second-year QB (Zach Wilson, the No. 2 pick in 2021) that has a chance to explode with an easier schedule? It's hard to blame bettors for seeing the Cincinnati Bengals when they look at this season's Jets team," Newman explained. So now we have an easier schedule? Sweet!!!!!
I highly doubt anyone is throwing G babies on any of these bets either. Vegas just throws these headlines out there so it hits the interwebs and they collect free $10-$100 throw away bets from thousands of people. I have a friend that lights his money on fire by betting the Jets to win the SB every year for over a decade.
I have a buddy that retired out there and he bets $10 on about 5 teams in the 10 to 20/1 range every year. He usually ends up with one or two in the playoffs though I can’t remember if he ever won the big one. He said it makes it interesting for him and it gives him something to root for once the playoffs start.
