Since other threads seem to be pissing contests and not about numbers i figured i'd make a real one. If anyone sees an issue with the numbers please let me know and be specific. Precursor, top 51 doesn't matter. it only exists so you can carry 90 players in the offseason. what matters is what the cap will be for the actual 55 man roster plus the PS and dead cap (PUP, IR, cuts, etc)

So to break it down and actual be accurate and not just copy and paste something from another site that is completely off in 10 days I took the roster into excel to calculate what we actually have to spend and account for Tru's june 1st cut designation.

Currently we have 81 players under contract for a total of 203.8 mil, this includes tru for 15 mil which goes down to 4 mil in 2020 with 8 mil carried over to 2021 (and 3 mil saved by cutting). Come June 1st his cap hit goes down from 15 mil to 4 mil.
So take away tru (11 mil saved, 4 mil dead money off his 15 mil this season cap hit) and we have 80 players for 192.8 mil
The other 10 players are the unsigned rookies which will count for around 10 mil
that means our 90 man roster is at 202.8 mil as it stands
We need to release 35 of those players. If i average out their salary to 700k each (the lowest paid players make 610k-750k) thats 35 times 700k = 24.5 million of "saved money" that's the minimum if we release winters or williamson that number goes up by a bit but for now we'll assume they make the roster.
    202.8 minus 24.5 = 178.3
that's our current projected cap for 2020 when the season starts
now lets add the rest of the "dead money"
1 mil from somewhere (not sure where but it's listed on spotrac)
10 mil from PUP (Q and bellamy)
now we are up to 189.3 that is our total cap including everything but PS players
PS should be a min of 1.36mil making it 190.66

The NFL salary cap is 198.2 mil
    we carried over 8.8 mil
our adjusted cap is 207 mil

    so 207 mil less 190.66 mil = 16.34 mil
Thats our realistic amount of money we can still spend this season
We could add more if we were to cut williamson and/or winters over a cheaper player
It's enough money to extend adams or sign 1 more big player
or we can carry it over if we want.

Another way to do it is this (worse case scenario as in we cut all the lowest paid players only)

the top 45 are 165.1 mil
the 10 rookies are 10 mil roughly
    that's 175.1 mil
then we have 5 mil in dead cap from cuts (tru is 4 mil of this)
then we have 10 mil in dead cap from PUP (Q and bellamy)
then we have 1.36 mil for PS
    that's 191.46 mil
    cap is 198.2
    rollover is 8.8
    total adjusted cap is 207
    207 - 191.46 = 15.54
