If we're running a 3-4 we need a stud NT... Watson. Hopefully we can sign Washington for one year and Watson can learn some tricks of the trade.

I agree. Robertson isn't a nose tackle... But Watson sure as hell is.

gotta go DT on this one..especially in a 4-3 ... but hopefully we'll switch to 3-4...

we'll sign or trade for a DE i think..so DT is a good pick

Lawson IMO. I know NT is a huge need, but without Abraham the Jets would be a 3-4 team with ZERO edge rushers at LB.

We don't need another safety, especially in the draft.

Also Donnie are we going to keep going, or is this the last one like you said it would be?

what planet did you come from? or did i miss the article that stated we have a top flight secondary? its a pretty safe assumption that we are still weak at corner AND safety, we need a replacement for rhodes who just isnt gonna cut it from a playmaking standpoint. whitner absolutely wont get beat deep and can cover for coleman who is a known risk-taker.

There are 5, maybe 10 playmaking safeties in the NFL today. It's rare and not necessary to have one... and Donte Whitner is not the next Ed Reed. Rhodes and Coleman are solid starters with room to grow and they will remain there until we fill our more major holes at OT, OG/C, NT, TE, QB, RB.

I'd love to add a playmaker in the secondary as much as the next one... but there are bigger needs right now and I don't think that Donte Whitner is a playmaking DB.

We have spent too many picks on safeties in the past. Rhodes and Coleman are solid young safeties and average starters compared to other's in the leagues. Other than that, we have Maddox and Washington, both taken in the past 2 drafts. All of our safeties we have spent picks on and are young, if you're going to bring in a safety, let it be a veteran, no need to waste anotehr pick on a young safety.
