Jets 30 to 1 shot to win the Super Bowl in 2008 Glendale AZ, February 3, 2008 Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Picks Odds to Win 2008 Super Bowl XLII - Glendale AZ, February 3, 2008 Well football fans, the NFL draft is over, as are the OTA?s. And training camp is in about a month or so, with the preseason following thereafter. With those things in mind, here are the most recent odds for all 32 NFL franchises and their chances of winning the Super Bowl*: Team Odds Arizona Cardinals 35/1 Atlanta Falcons 48/1 Baltimore Ravens 18/1 Buffalo Bills 90/1 Carolina Panthers 20/1 Chicago Beara 12/1 Cincinnati Bengals 18/1 Cleveland Browns 90/1 Dallas Cowboys 20/1 Denver Broncos 18/1 Detroit Lions 90/1 Green Bay Packers 38/1 Houston Texans 100/1 Indianapolis Colts 15/2 Jacksonville Jaguars 28/1 Kansas City Chiefs 28/1 Miami Dolphins 50/1 Minnesota Vikings 50/1 New England Patriots 2/1 New Orleans Saints 18/1 New York Giants 28/1  New York Jets 30/1 Oakland Raiders 75/1 Philadelphia Eagles 18/1 Pittsburgh Steelers 20/1 San Diego Chargers 6/1 San Francisco 49ers 18/1 Seattle Seahawks 18/1 St. Louis Rams 48/1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 45/1 Tennessee Titans 38/1 Washington Redskins 38/1 *Odds provided by Bodog.com, official sponsor of NFL GRIDIRON GAB > http://www.nflgridirongab.com/2007/0...bruary-3-2008/
I love how the Giants are just ahead of us and the Cards are just behind us. Great company we have there.
The funniest thing there is the Dolphins at 50-1 while the Bills are 90-1. No way that's the real chances. Probably both are 75-1 or so.
I'm partial to the Saints and Eagles (admittedly putting a lot of faith in McNabb staying healthy) based on those odds.
You're not very far off, Jetfan in DC. These numbers are skewed far beyond true mathmatical probabilities. These are sucker's odds, designed to lure in idiots on the Vegas strip who can't wait to throw away their money on bets that seem logical. NE Patriots 2/1? What about injuries? Fumbles? Luck of the coin toss? The wrong bounce? A lousy call? Parity in the NFL is a lot closer than anyone sees on the surface. Overachievers on winning teams like the Patriots who quit on plays just to collect their paychecks and elongate careers. Underachievers on teams like the Lions who give it their all and whose only goal is to make the Pro Bowl for the first time no matter what. Patriots at 2/1? I'll bet against that all day long.
These things are so freaking stupid. Like it's not inaccurate enough that writers SAY who they think will win the SuperBowl, they have to give out the numerical odds as well. Anyone that takes this seriously doesn't watch football.
