Indianapolis: Chansi Stuckey WR Clemson I doubt we get Clements or Samuel, so we take a chance on Aaron Ross, who had an outstanding season in 2006 and won the Jim Thorpe award. Blalock can play OT or OG and will compete at both. Bazuin will make a nice situational pass-rusher. Jason Hill is a solid prospect who reminds me a bit of Cotchery. OTHER NOTES: - RBs weren't a hot topic in the draft. - I expect us to acquire a NT via free agency or a trade (Sione Pouha maybe). In this case, Robertson moves to DE where he should be a good fit. That is why we pass on a 3-4 DE on Day 1. - In the end, Millen can't pass up a franchise QB this year too (Last year is was Leinart who went #10 to Arizona; Detroit picked #9). Kitna won't be there for long. - DeMarcus Tyler falls all the way to Dallas in Round 3. - Any comments, praises, criticsm is appreciated. Thanks for reading.
I liked the explaination around your thoughts...I haven't read enough into the prospects to speak intelligently about your mock, aside from round 1 DT's, DE's & RB's I don't know much about many of the players so far. As far as your picks with your logic I like it, I'll have to read up on the players to see if they make sense where you have them, though the only problem I have is the assumption that we'll find a DT in FA or Trade (less likely). I'd rather assume not and adjust if it happens, because its really hard to read what type of FO we have based on just one protracted off season...plus we don't know where Mangini's board stacks but over all a great effort
That's why we pass on DeMarcus Tyler, whose a 6-3 325 Ib. NT. His work ethic is terrible and has had some off field problems. So there isn't a way to go NT in the draft. Terdell Sands is a big guy from Oakland, 6-7 340ish maybe, who can play NT. And maybe SIone Pouha/Tui Alailalfeleua?
Thanks. I did a little reading up on Houston, he sounds like a pretty good prospect. I'd be very satisfied with him, maybe even more so.
I think I made a mistake... Does Washington only own 1 pick in the first 4 rounds, with the only one being their #6?
Ah thanks. Damn what the hell is Snyder doing? That's gonna be one really old team. So we have 1 2a 2b 3 5 6 7 I would hope we add a couple of more draft picks somewhere along the line. Whether it be a couple late round picks or trading down with one of our earlier picks...
Nice draft Jetfan. I would like to see Moore or Mebane in the third round. I just think Dewayne would be engulfed by a T and or TE double if Dewayne lined up at end. I'm guessing Dewayne Pouha and a second day pick at NT. Maybe the kid from Utah or Doughty from SC. All in all, nice draft.
Very nice, I agree with your thoughts completely....... But.... I wish we would sign Samuels instead and get someone else, from your draft I would say.... trade down, grab Anthony Spencer, Blalock, and someone else with the acquired pick............maybe Brian Leonard? or Quinn Pitcock?
Good effort, mocks are extremely difficult, especially third rounders. Some opinions: -Buster Davis isn't a first rounder- probably not even a first day pick. He's like 5'10 and runs a 4.7 40... -Leon Hall is really high for a guy who one scout called "just another guy." Don't be completely shocked if he, and more likely Jarrett, fall out of the first round. -Agreed with Jabba- Houston's a better CB than Ross. I'm not Ross' fan but that's more subjective than objective so I won't argue that point fully... On the plus side, projecting Tyler to the 3rd round is an excellent projection. People underestimate the extent to which character concerns affect a player's draft stock...
to be honest, i don't like all 3 of our picks, but all the other ones are really good, so imo you got 3 picks bad out of a good 93 picks, GOOD JOB
Rouse? The safety? Bush is too tall IMO (6-3 250). He's more like Brandon Jacobs to me. And I wouldn't want a guy like Jacobs as my #1 RB. Trust me, Washington/Houston will do great things with better offesnsive line play.
