The Saints are going to let Bentley test the market. This is important, not that the Jets would sign Bentley, they can't afford him.

The major issue is the Saints have the the 34th pick in rd 2 just before the Jets at #35. If Mangold lasts into Rd 2, I'm certain the Saints would grab him just before the Jets.

    Here's the link on Bentley:

Dammit! I hope that not the case. I really wanted Mangold in the second. I think he could be a steal and would be a starter day 1.

I would Love to have Bentley, he would be a force for a long time, If we had him, Moore, Jones, and Giles we could have a the makings of a strong line, hopefull in drafting Giles

If i could have one guy this off season it would be Bentley. He would be an anchor of our line for years just like Mawae did.

we could very well have enough money. Think about it, we have to get under the cap BEFORE we can trade abe. Therefore, we will be at least about 8 million under the cap. With that we could afford bentley but it also depends on how expensive our picks will be. I would LOVE to have bentley. One of the best centers in the league and very young

Young AND good, I like that combo. I wonder what our pick at #4 is going to cost us?

It won't be a big frontloaded contract, high picks really never are. There will be alot of bonus though.

If we could just have him play LT and LG while playing C we'd be set!

Sounds like a great signing if we could pull it off, but would it bring us closer to cap hell again?

Bentley is an Awesome young player. The Saints are dumb for letting him go, although they are the Saints, so it's relatively unsuprising.

    He'd be a great signing.

I posted a few weeks ago about cutting or trading Mawae and signing Bentley as the anchor of our new Oline. Bentley is a veteran pro bowler in his late 20's who can be our main man on the oline as we build. He could team with our new OT that we should pick #1.

    late 20's, try mid-20's, I think he's either 26 or 27 still.

and yeah, lets say we sign Bentley, draft Gilles in the second, and a tackle like Youngblood in the 3rd or 4th...

    The OL would be...

    LT-Jones
    LG-Gilles
    C-Bentley
    RG-Moore
RT-Youngblood/Cavka, whoever they feel is more ready

Not one of them is over 27, wouldn't that be somethin? We'd have the youngest staff/offensive line in the league...
