This guy is a big piece(no pun intended) to our Defense.. To me he is the center piece and everything revolves around if he is having a good game or not... That being said I really don't see him lasting the whole entire season. In preseason he had back problems and the first two games he has suffered some type of back issue. I think its because of how big he is weight wise and its putting a tremendous amount of stress on his back.. Plus once you suffered a back injury surgeries and all will not heal him back to normal..

So the question is Can Pouha be a dominate force in the middle and Next years draft after we take a Receiver in the 1st round we have to get a big body to help out in the middle to fill the void..

It would have been cool if your post just said "is the man" :)

No Pouha is not a dominate force, and i doubt that we'd draft another tackle that high. Also, I'm pretty sure that that is not a pun.

Other than that, I agree that Jenkins will probably not last the entire season. Hopefully it's just a game or two here and there. I think that are defense is still above average without him though. Pouha can hold is own, but will not always draw a double team.

No, Pouha cannot be a dominant force in the middle.

I agree with you. Jenkins makes me nervous. He is awesome though when he's healthy. Don't know the guy you're talking about specifically, but we should look into a young NT to have as a backup, at best.

If we got another NT then we could give him a blow.. Plus i really dont think he will be around much longer due to the back issue

I don't think Jenkins bats for the home team......but good luck in your quest. *cringes*

    To be totally honest...

...I am no longer worried about Kris Jenkins' health.

It was a different story last year, when we absolutely depended on him to be our defense. When Jenkins wasn't on the field last year, the defense was pitiful.

But this year? He's been off the field a lot, and while our D certainly is much stronger with him out there, it's no longer a liability to hold him out of snaps.

I hope the Jets can ride him into the playoff sunset, but in the end, in Rex I trust.

What makes you so sure we'll be drafting a WR in the 1st round? NT and DE are more important.

well only reason i say so is we do need a Main target a go to guy... and they were talking about it on the NFL network.. Basically they said stop digging threw other teams old trash and get themselves a 1st Round Receiver that they could mold into there own product.. Plus the last time they had a first round receiver was 2000 or 2002 with Santana Moss Dont remember the year but either one..

He is the key to how we are able to Blitz from all angles because he is a 2 linemen demand and that frees up other players to do there thing

    Here here!

Agreed. Let's grab another monster in the first round. He and Jenkins can both play a lot of downs. Look for another Ngata.

Jenkins doesn't play every down like Mangini tried to make him do.

The fact that this team has done what its done with jenkins playing maybe 60% of the snaps on defense is fantastic.

the scheme is different. However, this team needs another solid NT to make life that much easier for this defense.

The WR will come, but if this offense can be successful with the scheme and not a flashy #1 WR i'm all for it.

He's had two tackles and the Jet's defense has been absolutely dominant. What that tells us is that Jenkins has learned how to be a great NT.

I've seen a lot of 4 down linemen looks, which means he's taking on less double teams which has to be good for him (good thing we don't see Dallas this year, with our luck Ryan would line him up at end and Flozell would trip his ass and he'd break something)

I Agree and we will need to get a solid backup NT come the offseason but for now i honestly think Pouha can do a decent job but in no way will it be what Jenks does for us. Anyone besides him on our team at the Nose will be a downgrade and a good one. But to awnser your question i think Pouha can do a solid job but our D wont be nearly as dominant. Hopefully Jenks stays healthy and doesn't sit at all. Just give the big man some rest here and there during the game and cross our fingers.

This team is working fine without that "Main guy" at receiver. We have good receivers and staying strong at nose tackle is far more important for the way this team is built. I want a nose tackle next year - if there's a good one available at No. 32.

I love having Jenkins man the middle. I've always wanted us to have a beast in the middle. You see how important it is.

We'll draft a WR. This class is full of WR talent, so it may be later, but we'll draft one.
