This is going to just snowball at this point. As I was saying in one of the other threads, there are tons of guys who were involved with that ring that got busted. Now that all the evidence has been sorted, all the names will start coming out.

I'm willing to bet, by the end of this postseason, we see about 20% of the current active MLB players implicated.

I am firmly in the "Who gives a shit" camp now.

I love the game, this does nothing except build an even bigger soapbox for the scum in the media to preach from.

If baseball players are taking HGH, its only a matter of time before several NFL players are indicated. The problem is, there is no way of testing for it.

the thing is no one cares in football. merriman and harrison have been busted and there's almost no backlash against it, in the media or otherwise. i'm not sure why it's viewed so differently for baseball.

What I wonder is what baseball is going to do about it? Barry Bond's name was on like every single page of a 500 page Balco investigation. Baseball did nothing... maybe they can't I don't know.

I really don't know. I guess it's becuase although Giambi has got some backlash (because he's a Yankee of course), the only player who has really pissed people off is Bonds; because of his attitude and his breaking of a "sacred" record

the thing about all this is that this is no shock. we all knew there were many major leagues doing this crap. its not as if they are being busted currently doing it. they are being busted from incidents of years past. i am not shocked to hear any of this and its not as bad as people are making it out to be because its what happened in the past. not meaning what they did wasnt wrong but people need to stop acting so shocked about it.

the steroid era is over....all the names are just coming out.

i was watching nfl live last year and they were making a case for merriman for defensive player of the year.

"hes so great blah blah blah..he leads the league in sacks even though he missed the first 4 games of the season"

    ....

BECAUSE HE GOT CAUGHT FOR STEROIDS. nobody cares anymore.

It's Barry Bonds. He's killing baseball. As long as he can play, and break the honerun record, with that cloud over his head he gives cover to every two bit player who wants to juice.

Before him it was McGwire and Palmeiro and the legion of juicers in the late 90's and early 2000's. Baseball lost control of the game and now they haven't got the cojones to get it back. Goodell would have made Bonds sit until the investigations into his conduct were over and resolved.

I do think the leagues response is part of it. They sat there for so long ignoring the problem and denying it was going on that when they were finally forced to take action they had alot of people feeling "betrayed" or whatever.

It seems like in football it's just do your time with the suspension and it's pretty much forgotten about. I mean when the BALCO story broke no one even cared about Romanowski it was all about the baseball players.
