I'm not sure how I feel about this, and whether it's a good move. Cutler has a history of being a diva, and after last year's training camp fiasco with Fitz I don't think another short-term drama queen who can't find work elsewhere is a good move. I'm about 75-25 to the no. Thoughts? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...tler-jets-have-mutual-interest-in-one-another
i'll say this. I think Jay gets way too much shit around the league. he is what he is, which is an average QB that has the tendency to sling it and throw interceptions. he is absolutely better than Fitz, so do not compare the two. I also think his 'diva' personality is blown out of proportion. When cut, his teammates had NOTHING but positives to say about him as a teammate and his work ethic. I think he does not care about what the media thinks, but it is apparent he loves football. I would not be against signing him if it came at the right price
I don't want Cutler, but completely understand why we would sign him. Our QBs are young and inexperienced, and a significant part of our fan base and the media will not tolerate young QBs making the mistakes that young QBs make. Cutler is probably worth about 4-5 wins, but even if he gets us to the playoffs (that's a huge if), it's not a long term option. We need to build this thing from the ground up and IMO, that means we may need to watch a terrible product on the field next year. If one of our young QBs shows promise, great. If not, we will have a high enough pick to take another QB next year.
So far the media has proven time and time again this season that they don't know jack dick about who the Jets are interested in.
Why is this happening? I don't see the necessity for a Vet in here....expensive one at that Hes looking for high rental ...its plain as day "mutual interest? someone to hold Petty and hackenburgs hands thru a dismal 2017 imo
There is absolutely no way this is true. The plan is set guys don't worry. We're going with the youth movement. This team is finally doing what they should have done years ago. Trust the process.
The media says every team is interested in every FA if there's a need for the position. Sometimes even when there isn't. Anything to create headlines.
Not interested. By the time we're good enough to win with Cutler, he'll be too old to contribute. If we're going with a veteran QB, I want Kap for the entertainment he'll bring to this forum.
If whack job Brandon Marshall says Cutler is horrible, then Cutler is fantastic and we should get him in here ASAP so he can whoop Marshall's ass the 3rd pre-season game for the next 5 years.
i would flop geno and sanchez unless you can get junc to post back on this board. maybe move tebow to 1 tebow, geno/sanchez (depending on junc's status here) fitz,kaep,cutler,rg3 and mccown god mccown is boring, anyone else fight off a yawn when they say that name?
