sal maglie was a hated pitcher on the hated giants who came to brooklyn for the 1956 season----as soon as he started to win games for the dodgers all hatred was forgotten

he helped brooklyn win the pennant and almost the world series.

if jason can help the jets win some games----win the division and go deep in the playoffs he will be embraced by jet fans

it is up to sexy rexy and mike t. to evaluate him and see if there is anymore gas in his tank

Maglie also started 6 games for the Yankees in 1957 and 1958, being one of the few people to play for all 3 NYC baseball teams.

    Just sayin'.

Let's not hate on this one. He actually has a point. Plus, both guys have an a as their second letter and a_l as their 2nd and 4th letters in their last names. WILL THE SIMILARITIES NEVER STOP!?!

jerk patrol is in full effect tonight. everyone appreciates you guys trying to do the mods job and let the op know what he should and shouldnt be doing. thanks so much.

to the op... i dont care what team he comes to i cant stand jason taylor and will not root for him. to bring his less than serviceable over the hill ass in would be a very big mistake.

when the rangers picked up eric lindros i stopped watching them. i wont go that far with the jets but there is no way i will root for that tool. him becoming a jet doesnt make me like him.

Jerk patrol just wouldn't be complete without its watch commander.

I agree it would be too far for you to go to quit watching the Jets if Jason Taylor does indeed join the team, but perhaps abandoning all extraneous Jets-related activities would be a fair compromise between your ethical convictions and your fandom.

thanks ignatius for you usual witty druel. hurry up the rest of your interweb crew has moved onto another thread, or maybe they are all busy hanging in the bs forum wondering who to gang up on next.

Could we please get a definition of "druel"? I feel like I SHOULD know, since I so often produce it, but I'm drawing a blank.

I have no interweb crew. I don't discriminate; I respond to inane posts with commentary when I feel like it. I've debated with Cato, who you supposedly feel is some sort of ally of mine, within the past week. In fact, if something receives TOO much negative response, I stay out of that. Having said that, have you considered that perhaps certain threads get massively attacked because they're widely recognized as bad, rather than out of some ill-gotten conspiracy?

As far as your schtick, I still don't understand why you bother posting any more if you hate the site so much. 95% of your posts resemble the kind of catty bitching one would hear from a bunch of dried up old women jealously criticizing the younger generation. You add nothing of value any longer, if you ever did. It's simply a series of daily diatribes against the site, its members, and the team. You're champjr. The only difference is, he can blame senility and old age for it. You have no excuse.

Sounds like a cross between drivel and gruel. Runny nonsense?
