Ex blue chip prospect from LI Jason Gwaltney destroying people in Div III. http://www.keanathletics.com/sports/fball/2010-11/releases/101810NJAC This was his last chance at college football. Would not be surprised to see him in an NFL or UFL camp next year. He's huge and still is worth taking a chance on. Rex would love this guy.
How old is he at this point? PacMan and Henry made it thru RichRod WVU and this guy couldn't. Also, you left NCC off the list of places he failed out of. Dude is averaging 5.3 yards a carry at D III. Let's not get too excited. -X-
I don't get the worry... it's not like we'll spend a 1st rd pick on him. If he fucks up character wise we cut him (we or whoever gets him)... that's the beauty of the NFL. You never really fuck up on a guy picked up on a min contract!
I've got some years on him, but I went to the same high school. Went to see him play for the county championship and he did everything in that game. Even 2 INTs. It's sad to say, but besides Ian Smart, none of the "vaunted" NB running backs ever really excelled at the NCAA level or pro level.
He's gonna set Keanes single season rushing record. I think he'll get some invites to an NFL camp this spring.
Thanks. Could someone tell me the story on this kid? Like, what happened to him or what he did to be playing at Kean?
Kid won the Hansen Award (given to the best football player in Suffolk County, Long Island) 2 years in a row as a RB for North Babylon. 6' 235lbs -- strong & relatively quick for his size (4.5 40)-- excellent field vision. 7800 yards in HS and 135 TDs. Recruited by everyone -- local newspaper reported that Pete Carroll called him at home about 30 minutes after USC beat Oklahoma in the 01/05 Orange Bowl. Chose West Virginia -- seems like majority of Long Island guys go there. Got hurt, skipped classes & left there after 1 semester......maybe 1 year? Bounced around to smaller unknown schools. Who knows. All the talent in the world, but couldnt stay on track. Unfortunately, coming from a bit of a broken home will cause that.
