Hi, I'm a Bucs fan and I was wondering about Jason Fabini. Apparently Fabini visited the Bucs today and was wondering what you guys thought of him. Is he a better run blocker or pass blocker? What are his strengths/weaknesses? What is a Jets fan general feeling about him? Thanks alot.

he is a piece of crap at this stage of his career. I would guess hes going to be your second string though. Still a below average second stringer.

He's getting slower and is on the downside of his career. He will probably make solid depth though.

When he was good, he was a real solid pass blocker on the blind side. But he's been declining, and he's coming off of injury. He's probably washed up at this point.

An honest opinion is that he can play either side (LT or RT) at a servicable level.

He isn't going to any pro bowls at this point of his career, but he is pretty versatile and would be a good spot starter/backup, but average starter.

Fabini is a future pro bowler held back only by the lack of talent around him. Put in the right situation he can probably win you every game in 06 singlehandedly. Hed probably be the most significant signing of FA yet

Good run blocker and decent pass protecter.... is terrible against any speed rushers and will never be able to play LT again. Also highly injury prone... as an NFL team I would see him as a fall-back option at RT if I couldn't get a younger and more durable tackle.

In his prime he could play both sides very well, and I always thought his strength was pass blocking. He has definitely lost a step though, and while he can still compete with most bull-rushing ends, he has loads of trouble against speed-rushers. His knees and legs just don
t hold up well enough to keep up with their moves. His run blocking is average at best at this point.

He's be a really solid swing tackle at this point, or maybe play him on the left as a starter for a year. He is not a long term solution though, and I wouldn't trust him to protect your young, promising QB's blind-side this year, so they shouldn't play him at RT...

Hes a guy asking for advice about a player and not one of those darksider fans that whine and moan about guys over and over. From one football fan to another I choose to help him out whether you want to or not.

OK, honestly.... a lot of Jet fans have been wanting to get Fabini on the bench for a couple of years now. He used to be pretty good. He got moved to RT last year because he was getting beaten consistantly at LT. He's an ordinary to fair run blocker, and is injury prone. Definitely lost a step from two years ago.

Fabini is a smart OT who is technically as sound as the come. He has had a bad back for the last 3 years and has trouble getting leverage because of it. He was never particullarly quick and the combination has killed him. He had a lot of time off last year and if he is healthy he might actually be okay. If he isn't his toast.

Hes been a very good player for us and a good RT for years. Hes slowed down a lot and is past his prime now but he would be good for depth.

Fabini was a very good player during the good days of his career. However he has seen his best days and he is slowing down, he struggles with speed rushers and he would be a very bad option at LT. However he would be a decent backup.

Also ignore JETSFAN5180 nobody really likes him.

Stay away from him unless you want to play your backup cause he will get Chris Simms killed.

If not killed then taken off on a stretcher and then he has to drink out of a straw for the rest of his life.
