Let them at that price lol

I'd love Revis back but to be completely honest, he's left a very bad taste in my mouth after those comments he made about this fan base and this team.

Fuck him and his money. Let him destroy New England's cap

Is Al Davis running the Pats now? This won't happen.

It doesn't seem Belichickian to make someone the highest paid player on the team after 2 years, especially when that someone is not a Qb.

I think this would be a huge mistake for the Pats. Hopefully they keep him at $20 million.

Well that brings up a good argument.

If they lose do they pay him that money? If they don't pay him that money, does he look elsewhere to avoid the cheating bullshit?

If he gets the 20 that puts his NEP average salary for two years at 16 per. He got 12 this year. But it's a 25 mil cap hit in 2015 unless he agrees to restructure. And we know he's not too big on doing that.

Here is a breakdown of the deal for those into specifics:

    2014
    Cap value:
    $7M
    Cash value: $12M
    Signing bonus: $10M
Roster bonus: $500K ($33.33K per game if on 46-man roster up to 15 games)
    Base salary: $1.5M

    2015 Cap value: $25M
    Cash value: $20M
Roster bonus-1: $12M (earned on April 1, 2015, if club exercises option prior to end of 2014 league year)
Roster bonus-2: $500,000 ($33.33K per game if on 46-man roster up to 15 games)
    Base salary: $7.5M

If they do... good for him. That is an impressive payday for a CB.

That's a lot of money to have on one player in the NFL, a corner at that. Let's face it, injuries are not foreign territory for Revis. That's a lot of money that on any given Sunday is laid up for the rest of the year.

Somewhere on Revis you can find a tag that reads, "Made in New York City"

They might think he's worth 16 mil per season (his Bucs salary). It's very unusual for the Patriots to pay any player like this. But maybe Belichick thinks of Revis as a once in a generation player. A compete game changer. I don't know if I agree with that after watching him play this season. btw when asked if he misses the Jets during SB week he said he doesn't.

We don't miss him either, he was never a Jet to me. The only green he cared about was money.

Don't care about the money. The guy was (to me) the best Jets player of all time. But I wouldn't re-sign him. His better days are behind him.

Let them, I'd rather him be overpaid like that on the Pats than be playing for Rex in Buffalo

Don't forget Brady restructured to free up more $$$ and they got rid of Mankins.

Wow, rock solid reporting there! They "may" keep him, meaning they also "may not." Sure took a position with that one.

Why the fuck is this a thread?
