I heard on Path to the Draft that Moss is a one dimensional pass rusher, and he cannot help at all in run defense nor chase a runner. Evaluations like these make prospects like Moss the pick to shockingly drop down into the early to mid 2nd round.

That's probably being put forward by teams in the late first-early second who want him.

Moss has always been a second half of the first round type guy. About a half dozen of those (Eric Steinbach and Drew Brees come to mind here) drop into the second round every season.

Other guys in that range this year include Paul Posluzny, Anthony Spencer, Brandon Meriweather, Ryan Kalil, Joe Staley and Justin Blalock. Any of those guys could still be there on the 40 pick.

Moss is a guy that can rush the passer with the absolute best of them, and also has experience playing Linebacker, as well as the athleticism to be quite versatile in what the staff asks him to do. Though, he's also very dangerous in pursuing ball carriers, thanks to his long arms and quickness, so I'm not sure where exactly you're coming up with that. The only thing he lacks is power at the point of attack, and that's what makes him playing off the line at OLB that much more fitting.
