============================ Just a couple mid-season observations. Brian Burns who I had for us at pick # 11 was selected by the Panthers at pick # 16 has 4.5 sacks. Meanwhile in Jet land, Quinnen Williams has zero sacks while two players lead the team with 2 sacks each. Andre Dillard who I had for us at pick # 17 went to the Eagles at pick # 22 and has started the last two games at right tackle after seeing playing time in every game since the season started. The Jets who could badly use offensive line help did not have a second round pick as they used all of their ammo at pick # 3 instead of trading down to get us a second player. I give the Jets some credit for repeating my mistake in taking Jachai Polite while using a cheaper pick (#68) that the one I used (#42). Froholdt got some playing time at guard for the Patriots before ending up on IR while Lesley latched onto the Raven's practice squad as an undrafted free agent. Blake Cashman seems to be a nice pick but not really enough to move the needle for our Jets. It is no wonder Mac got fired.
It just sucks. We draft luxury picks when we’re not building. 3-4 DL are essentially space eaters. Such a waste of a pick. Two safeties in 2017 lol. It’s all such a joke. everyone should be available and we need to rebuild.
Unfortunately, - we needed a clear unmasking of this team in order for everyone to see that years & years of bad drafting by Mike McCaggnan has put us in the personnel hole where we find ourselves. A trade-down in the 2020 draft is a MUST course of action for us. Come to think of it, ----- it was in 2019 as well.
Of course it is, and was in 2019, and probably 2018 as well. If Mac had taken Mahomes or Watson in 2017, we'd also have had an additional 1st and 2-2nd round picks in 2018 and our 2nd round pick in 2019. Fuck McCagnan. I hope he never works again unless it's at a Walmart.
